YARD ENGINEER

Role Overview

Yard Engineer at NMDC Group. An experienced fabrication engineer required to support offshore and onshore EPC projects in Oil & Gas fabrication yards.

Role Purpose

Supervise and coordinate fabrication, assembly, and erection activities across offshore jackets, topsides, modules, skids, structural steel, piping systems, pipe racks, and mechanical equipment. Ensure project execution meets specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, and client procedures through effective planning, monitoring, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Fabrication Supervision & Coordination

• Supervise fabrication, assembly, and erection activities for offshore jackets, topsides, modules, skids, structural steel, piping systems, pipe racks, and mechanical equipment.
• Monitor fit-up, welding, NDT, dimensional control, hydrotesting, pneumatic testing, and mechanical completion activities.
• Coordinate lifting and rigging activities.

Planning & Progress Management

• Plan and monitor fabrication progress, manpower utilization, productivity, and equipment deployment.
• Manage fabrication activities, manpower, productivity, and subcontractors.

Engineering & Documentation Review

• Review fabrication drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and material take-offs.

Stakeholder & Team Coordination

• Coordinate with Engineering, QA/QC, Planning, Procurement, Logistics, and HSE teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Coordinate inspections, punch-list clearance, system handovers, and turnover documentation.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, and client procedures.
• Manage QA/QC documentation and inspection activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8-15 years of experience in Oil & Gas fabrication yards, EPC projects, or offshore/onshore construction projects.
• Hands-on experience in fabrication and construction of offshore jackets, topsides and modules, structural steel, piping systems, process skids, and mechanical equipment.
