What these roles pay in the UAE
Four roles drawn from the four biggest industries on this page, taken from Michael Page’s 2026 UAE guide — not from our own listings, since only about 1% of the vacancies we hold disclose pay.
These are market-wide survey figures, not offers on the vacancies above. Actual pay varies by employer, experience and negotiation — and the roles listed on this page may pay outside these ranges.
Working in the UAE — the questions people actually ask
Written for this country only. The same answers repeated across six country pages is what makes Google treat them as one page.
Do I need a job offer before moving to the UAE?
In almost every case yes. Your employer sponsors the residence visa, and the work permit is issued against a signed offer. The main exception is the Green Visa, which you apply for on your own qualifications rather than through a company.
Can I apply for UAE jobs while I am still outside the country?
Yes, and most people do. Employers here hire internationally as a matter of routine. Expect a video interview first, and be ready to explain your notice period and how quickly you could relocate.
What is the standard notice period in the UAE?
Thirty days is the usual figure written into a limited or unlimited contract, though senior roles often carry sixty or ninety. Your contract governs, not custom, so check the clause before you commit to a start date.
Do employers accept a degree certificate that has not been attested?
For the job itself, often yes. For the work permit, no. Attestation through your home country's foreign ministry and the UAE embassy takes weeks, so start it before you have an offer rather than after.
How does Emiratisation affect roles in the private sector?
Companies above a certain headcount must meet annual Emirati hiring targets, which mostly shapes competition for entry and mid-level office roles. It does not stop expatriate hiring, and specialist and senior positions remain widely open.
Which emirate has the most vacancies on Uplift right now?
Dubai carries the most by a clear margin, with Abu Dhabi second and Sharjah third. The exact counts are shown at the foot of this page and are read live from our database each time the page loads.
Looking across the Gulf?
Most candidates here search three or four markets at once. Each card carries its own live count, so nobody clicks into an empty page.
