Privacy Policy

What we collect when you use Uplift GCC, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and how you can get it deleted.

1. Who we are

Uplift GCC ("Uplift GCC", "we", "us", "our") operates the website at upliftgcc.com, a recruitment and career-tools platform for job seekers and employers across the Gulf Cooperation Council region — Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates.

We are based in Manama, Bahrain. For anything relating to your personal data, including requests to access or delete it, you can reach us at careers@upliftgcc.com.

This policy explains what we do with your information when you browse vacancies, upload a CV, use our AI career tools, subscribe to job alerts, or apply for a role through our platform.

2. What information we collect

Information you give us directly

  • Account details — your name, email address, and the password you choose. Passwords are stored in encrypted (hashed) form and we never see them in readable text.
  • Profile information — your phone number, country of residence, nationality, industry or sector, years of experience, current job title, salary expectations, notice period, driving licence status, and any other field you choose to complete.
  • Your CV — the document itself, plus any information contained in it: employment history, education, skills, certifications, references and contact details.
  • CVs you build with us — the structured information you enter into our CV Writer, and any CV files you generate from it.
  • Applications — a record of which vacancies you applied to and when.
  • Messages you send us — anything you write in our contact form or email to us.

Information employers give us

If you post a vacancy, we collect your name, work email, company name, the role details you submit, and the number of positions you are hiring for.

Information we collect automatically

  • Usage data — pages you visit, vacancies you view or save, searches you run, and how you arrived at our site.
  • Technical data — your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system and approximate location derived from your IP address (country or city level only).

💡 You can browse without an account. Searching and reading vacancies does not require you to give us any personal information. We only collect the items above when you choose to sign up, upload a CV, or apply.

3. Why we use your information

We rely on your consent when you upload a CV, subscribe to alerts, or apply for a role — and you can withdraw that consent at any time. We rely on our legitimate interest in running a functioning, secure platform for basic usage analytics and fraud prevention.

We do not sell your personal information to anyone, and we do not display advertising on our platform.

4. How our AI tools process your CV

Our CV analysis, ATS scoring, CV tailoring, LinkedIn optimisation and interview preparation features are powered by third-party artificial intelligence services. When you use one of these tools, the content of your CV or the text you enter is sent to that provider so it can generate the result you asked for.

We currently use Anthropic (the Claude API) for this processing. Your CV content is sent for the purpose of producing your result and is not used by us to train any AI model.

Automated scoring and matching on our platform is advisory only. It does not by itself decide whether you get an interview or a job — that decision always rests with the employer. If you would rather not have your CV processed by an AI tool, simply do not use those features; you can still browse vacancies and apply.

5. Who we share your information with

Employers

When you apply for a role through Uplift GCC, your name, contact details, profile information and CV may be made available to the employer or recruiter advertising that role, so they can consider your application. Many of our listings are aggregated from employers' own career sites — in those cases, clicking through takes you to the employer's own application system, and any information you enter there is governed by their privacy policy, not ours.

Service providers

We use a small number of providers to run the platform. They process data only on our instructions:

  • Supabase — database, file storage and user authentication
  • Vercel — website hosting and delivery
  • Anthropic — AI processing for our career tools
  • Google Analytics — anonymised usage statistics
  • Our email provider — sending job alerts, digests and account emails

Legal reasons

We may disclose information where we are required to do so by law, by a court, or by a competent regulatory authority, or where it is necessary to protect the rights and safety of our users.

6. Cookies and analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies:

  • Essential cookies — needed to keep you signed in and to remember your language preference. The site does not work without these.
  • Analytics cookies — Google Analytics, which tells us how many people visit, which pages they use, and where they came from. This data is aggregated and does not identify you personally.

You can block or delete cookies through your browser settings. If you block essential cookies, you will not be able to stay signed in.

We do not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run advertising on the platform.

7. How long we keep your information

If you ask us to delete your data, we act on that request rather than waiting for these periods to expire. See section 9.

8. Your rights and choices

You can ask us to:

  • Show you what personal information we hold about you
  • Correct anything that is wrong or out of date
  • Delete your account and the data associated with it
  • Send you a copy of the information you gave us, in a portable format
  • Stop sending you emails — every alert and digest we send includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also change this in your account preferences
  • Withdraw your consent to CV storage or AI processing at any time

You can update most of your information yourself in your account settings. For anything else, email careers@upliftgcc.com and we will respond within 30 days.

Once your data has been passed to an employer as part of an application, that employer becomes responsible for it as a separate data controller. We can delete our copy, but you would need to contact the employer directly about theirs.

9. Deleting your account and data

You can delete your account and everything associated with it — your profile, your CV files, your saved vacancies and your application history — from the "Delete account" section at the bottom of your account page, or by emailing careers@upliftgcc.com from the address registered to your account.

Deleting from your account page takes effect immediately. Email requests are confirmed and completed within 30 days. Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.

Two things survive deletion: anonymised statistics that can no longer be linked back to you, and anything we are required to retain by law.

10. How we protect your information

Your data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in access-controlled databases and file storage. Passwords are hashed. Access to stored CVs is restricted to the account that owns them and to our own administrative access where needed to operate the platform.

No online service can promise perfect security. If we ever become aware of a breach that affects your personal data, we will tell you and the relevant authority as required by law.

11. Where your information is stored

Our hosting, database and AI providers operate data centres outside Bahrain, including in the European Union and the United States. This means your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own. We only use established providers who apply recognised safeguards for international data transfers.

12. Age requirement

Uplift GCC is intended for people seeking employment and is not directed at children. You must be at least 18 years old to create an account or upload a CV. If we become aware that we hold information from someone under 18, we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the platform develops or as the law changes. The date at the top of this page always shows when it was last revised. If we make a change that materially affects how we handle your data, we will notify registered users by email.

14. How to contact us

For any question about this policy, or to exercise any of the rights described above:

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled your request, you may raise the matter with the Personal Data Protection Authority in Bahrain, or with the data protection authority in your own country of residence.
