Role Overview

Trainee - Improvement Process at Hitachi Energy Ltd, located in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time, on-site position (Job ID: R0138180).

Role Purpose

Learn and onboard across various programs and functions within the organization over 6-month rotations to develop comprehensive understanding of company operations and accelerate professional growth. Support the Continuous Improvement team in driving operational excellence through application of Lean, Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and process improvement methodologies while developing technical, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Continuous Improvement Projects

• Support Lean Six Sigma, Kaizen, and operational excellence projects.
• Assist in identifying process improvement opportunities across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, and support functions.
• Participate in project teams to improve productivity, quality, delivery performance, and cost efficiency.
• Collect and validate project data and assist in preparing project documentation.

Process Analysis & Optimization

• Conduct process mapping and value stream mapping exercises.
• Identify waste, bottlenecks, and non-value-added activities.
• Support implementation of standardized work and process optimization initiatives.
• Assist in monitoring improvement actions and sustainability plans.

Data Analysis & Reporting

• Collect, analyze, and interpret operational data.
• Develop dashboards, reports, and KPI tracking tools.
• Support performance reviews by providing trend analysis and improvement insights.
• Maintain project trackers and improvement databases.

Problem Solving

• Participate in structured problem-solving activities using PDCA, DMAIC, 5 Why Analysis, Fishbone Diagram, Pareto Analysis, and A3 Problem Solving.
• Assist teams in investigating root causes and implementing corrective actions.

Lean & Six Sigma Deployment

• Support Lean awareness and training programs.
• Participate in Kaizen events, Gemba walks, and workshops.
• Assist in promoting a culture of continuous improvement and employee engagement.
• Support Lean Six Sigma certification activities and project reviews.

Documentation & Governance

• Maintain improvement project records and lessons learned.
• Support development of work instructions, standard operating procedures, and best practices.
• Ensure compliance with company quality, safety, and environmental requirements.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Software Engineering; Computer Science; Management Information Systems; or a related field.
• Fresh graduate status with basic knowledge of Continuous Improvement Projects, Data Analysis and Reporting, Problem Solving, and Documentation.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in both spoken and written English and Arabic language required.
• High technical comprehension with conceptual and analytical mindset.

Work is closely supervised. Problems faced are not typically difficult or complex. This is an Entry Professional (P1) role where broad theoretical job knowledge is typically obtained through advanced education.
