Tennis Coach

Role Overview

Tennis Coach at Marriott. Provide group and private tennis instruction to children and adults at resort facilities.

Role Purpose

Deliver high-quality tennis instruction and court management services to guests, maintain tennis facilities and equipment to professional standards, and create a welcoming recreational experience that promotes guest satisfaction and relaxation.

Key Responsibilities

Instruction & Guest Services

• Provide group and private tennis instruction to children and adults.
• Schedule individual and group tennis lessons and clinics.
• Arrange tennis matches for guests without partners.
• Fill in as a tennis player in tournaments when necessary.
• Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities, activities, lessons, and equipment.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
• Anticipate and address guests' service needs.
• Thank guests with genuine appreciation.

Facility & Equipment Management

• Make tennis court reservations by writing in guest name on schedule.
• Roll, brush, and line tennis courts to maintain proper playing conditions and appearance.
• String tennis racquets and make minor repairs.
• Send racquets out for repair as necessary to maintain tennis equipment in proper working order.

Operations & Professionalism

• Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests in all recreational activities and areas by expressing an upbeat and enthusiastic attitude.
• Follow company policies and procedures.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Protect company assets.
• Speak with others using clear and professional language.
• Answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Perform other reasonable job duties as requested.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or G.E.D. equivalent (preferred).
• At least 3 years of related work experience (preferred).
• Tennis Instruction certification (required).
• Tennis Court Maintenance certification (required).
• Tennis Equipment certification (required).
• Tennis Racquet Repair certification (required).
• CPR Certification (required).
• First Aid Certification (required).
• Any certification or training required by local and state agencies (required).

Skills & Competencies

• Reach, bend, twist, pull, and stoop.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects.
• Move, lift, or carry objects weighing less than or equal to 25 pounds.
• Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time.
