Role Overview

Technology Architect - Remote position with Robusta, Octopus by RTG. This role is responsible for defining and governing the organization's Technology Architecture and target technology landscape within a highly regulated banking environment.

Role Purpose

Define, establish, and maintain the organization's Technology Architecture and target technology landscape. Ensure alignment with Enterprise Architecture and business objectives while governing technology standards, principles, platforms, and strategic technology capabilities across the enterprise.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Definition & Governance

• Define and maintain the Technology Architecture and target technology landscape.
• Establish technology architecture standards, principles, and guidelines.
• Define technology platforms and strategic technology capabilities.
• Monitor compliance with approved Technology Architecture standards and principles.
• Maintain technology architecture documentation, standards, models, and decision records.

Assessment & Strategy

• Assess the current technology landscape against the target architecture.
• Identify technology gaps, risks, dependencies, and modernization requirements.
• Develop and maintain technology architecture roadmaps.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and assess their potential business and technology value.
• Experience assessing current technology landscapes and defining modernization strategies.

Stakeholder & Governance Support

• Work closely with Application, Data, Infrastructure, Security, and Enterprise Architects.
• Ensure technology decisions align with Enterprise Architecture, standards, and target architecture.
• Review and provide recommendations on technology selections for major initiatives.
• Provide technology architecture guidance for major strategic programs and initiatives.
• Support technology modernization, transformation, and rationalization initiatives.
• Support architecture governance and provide recommendations for strategic technology decisions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10–15+ years of overall experience in Technology Architecture, Enterprise Architecture, Infrastructure, or related technology roles.
• Significant experience in defining and governing Technology Architecture within large and complex organizations.
• Strong experience in technology strategy, target architecture, and technology roadmaps.
• Experience evaluating emerging technologies and making strategic technology recommendations.
• Experience in banking or financial services is highly preferred.
• Experience working in a SAMA-regulated environment is an advantage.
• TOGAF or other recognized Enterprise/Technology Architecture certification is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong understanding of technology platforms, infrastructure, cloud, networks, and enterprise systems.
• Strong knowledge of technology standards, principles, architecture governance, and technology lifecycle management.
• Strong understanding of Enterprise Architecture and its relationship with Application, Data, Infrastructure, and Security Architecture.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication, analytical, and strategic thinking skills.
