Role Purpose

Perform assembly, disassembly, cleaning, inspection, testing and disposition of aircraft components and accessories to support the overhaul of slides and life rafts, while maintaining the highest quality standards and supporting broader maintenance activities across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Assembly and Disassembly

• Perform major and minor assembly and disassembly of various types of components and accessories.
• Fold and pack evacuation slides into compartments.

Inspection and Testing

• Conduct inspection and testing of components as required to overhaul slides and life rafts.
• Perform hydrostatic testing (HST) of pressurized bottles.
• Maintain high levels of quality throughout all work.

Overhaul and Repair

• Execute overhaul of pressurized cylinders and regulators.
• Repair composite compartments and fabrics.
• Support cleaning and disposition of components and accessories.

Quality and Compliance

• Follow quality procedures and technical documentation accurately.
• Comply with all rules and regulations of Collins Aerospace, including Environmental Health and Safety, Ethics, International Trade Compliance and Human Resources.
• Report to lead or supervisor on work progress and updates, including conditions surrounding failures to meet quality standards.

Safety and Continuous Improvement

• Comply with Environmental Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times, including wearing appropriate Personal Protective Equipment.
• Attend Environmental Health and Safety trainings as required.
• Report unsafe practices and conditions to the appropriate individuals to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
• Recommend improvements to Environmental Health and Safety practices to create a safer workplace.

Broader Support

• Complete assigned tasks, not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of the job description in support of department objectives and to develop individual skills.
• When not overhauling slides, support other maintenance activities in other Strategic Business Units.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3+ years of relevant experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent, or vocational/technical education in related discipline with a minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Skills & Competencies

• Ability to utilize computer systems (SAP, MS Office, etc.) to input and retrieve information.
• Ability to interpret schematics and/or technical drawings.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Additional Information

• Position Type: Onsite. Employees work primarily onsite as production and maintenance roles are essential to the development of products. Commuting to and from the assigned site is the employee's personal responsibility.
• Must be available for overtime, including extended workdays and weekends.
