Role Purpose
The Technical Office Engineer (Structural) ensures compliance of all structural works with project specifications, applicable codes, and client requirements. This role provides technical leadership across structural design interpretation, construction coordination, and quality assurance to support efficient project execution and successful handover.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation & Technical Review
- Review and interpret structural drawings, shop drawings, specifications, design calculations, and engineering documents for construction activities.
- Prepare and review technical submittals, method statements, material submittals, RFIs, Technical Queries (TQs), and other technical documents.
- Review Material Take-Offs (MTOs), Bills of Quantities (BOQs), material specifications, and technical requirements to support procurement activities.
- Monitor engineering revisions and ensure the latest approved drawings and documents are available for construction.
- Coordinate with the Document Control team to maintain accurate engineering records, drawings, revisions, and technical documentation.
- Assist in preparing and reviewing as-built drawings, final documentation, and project handover dossiers.
Structural Works Oversight
- Review structural steel, reinforced concrete, foundations, equipment foundations, platforms, supports, and related structural works.
- Ensure structural works comply with ADNOC standards, project specifications, approved drawings, applicable international codes, and project requirements.
- Provide technical support during structural steel fabrication and erection, concrete works, foundations, grouting, installation, and related construction activities.
- Review shop drawings and fabrication drawings and coordinate with subcontractors and fabricators to ensure compliance with approved designs.
Technical Coordination & Problem Resolution
- Coordinate with Engineering, Construction, QA/QC, Procurement, Planning, and Survey teams to resolve structural and technical issues.
- Support the Construction and QA/QC teams in resolving site technical issues, non-conformances, and design-related queries.
- Participate in constructability reviews and provide practical technical solutions to support efficient project execution.
- Attend technical coordination meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and other stakeholders as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Technical Office or Structural Engineering.
- Experience in EPC, Oil & Gas, or Construction projects; ADNOC experience preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of structural steel, concrete, foundations, drawings, RFIs, and technical submittals.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD.
- Good knowledge of applicable codes and standards.
- Strong technical coordination and communication skills.
