Role Purpose

To inspire, engage, and challenge students in their formative years by creating a nurturing and play-based learning environment. Deliver high-quality teaching and inclusive learning experiences that spark curiosity, encourage creativity, and support students' academic, social, and personal development.

Key Responsibilities

Teaching and Learning

• Deliver lessons that inspire students to succeed and achieve the best possible outcomes.
• Develop clear understanding of the curriculum requirements.
• Organize classroom provision and learning resources and create displays to encourage a positive and engaging learning environment.
• Plan, prepare, and present sessions that cater for the needs of the whole ability range within the class.
• Motivate pupils with enthusiastic and imaginative teaching.
• Observe and assess children in line with school assessments.
• Reflect on classroom provision, sessions taught, and progress made, adjusting environment, planning and curriculum accordingly.
• Meet with other professionals such as speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and educational psychologists if required.
• Ensure the Al Mamoura Academy Teacher and Learner DNA language and attitudes are embedded throughout the curriculum.

Assessment and Data

• Take responsibility for the progress of a class.
• Meet requirements for assessment and recording of student development using Target Tracker.
• Use data provided by assessments to influence further planning, provision, and intervention.
• Provide feedback to parents and carers on a student's progress at Parent Teacher Conferences and other meetings.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work cooperatively with fellow teachers to plan engaging lessons that meet curriculum requirements.
• Liaise with colleagues and work flexibly.
• Partner with curriculum support staff to support children's development where applicable.
• Communicate effectively at all levels within the school community.
• Develop and maintain positive relationships with all members of the school community.
• Work with parents to ensure the happiness and best academic outcomes for all children.
• Communicate effectively with parents and carers regarding student achievements and well-being using school systems and processes such as CPOMS as appropriate.

Behaviour Management

• Follow the school's behaviour policy.
• Manage classes effectively using approaches appropriate to students' needs to inspire, motivate, and challenge pupils.
• Maintain good relationships with pupils and exercise appropriate authority, acting decisively when necessary within the school's behavioural policy.
• Be a positive role model and demonstrate consistently the positive attitudes, values, and behaviour expected of pupils.
• Maintain high expectations of behaviour, promoting self-control and independence of all learners.

Wider Professional Responsibilities

• Work as part of a curriculum action group, supporting planning, assessment, resources, and special events linked to that team.
• Support the organizing and participate in school events, outings, and activities which may take place at weekends or in the evening.
• Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school.
• Run a weekly ECA (Extra-Curricular Activity) each term.
• Carry out duties as directed and within the school's policy.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in a related subject with PGCE or other teacher qualification.
• Minimum 1–2 years teaching experience.

• Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language.
• Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child.
• A high level of professionalism and consideration of the well-being of children.
• Recent and consistent involvement in extra-curricular activities.

• A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life.
• Proficiency in Target Tracker assessment system.
• Familiarity with CPOMS school management system.
