Role Overview

Support Craft Electrical Technician at NMDC Group. The role provides hands-on electrical maintenance and diagnostics support on marine vessels.

Role Purpose

Troubleshoot, diagnose, and maintain power and control systems on marine vessels, ensuring safe and reliable operation of electrical and engine systems through systematic maintenance, technical documentation, and cross-functional collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

Maintenance & Diagnostics

• Troubleshoot and maintain power and control systems on marine vessels.
• Carry out routine and corrective electrical maintenance following technical procedures.
• Perform electronic diagnostics using diagnostic tools on Caterpillar marine engines.
• Maintain and service control panels and PLC systems.

Technical Documentation & Planning

• Interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
• Identify and order required spare parts based on diagnostic findings.
• Maintain detailed maintenance logs for all work performed.
• Prepare detailed technical reports on maintenance activities and outcomes.
• Provide regular reports on task progress and issues.

Safety & Compliance

• Maintain strict adherence to HSE policies.
• Proactively identify and mitigate electrical hazards.
• Escalate complex problems to supervisors.

Collaboration & Support

• Collaborate with other departments on maintenance activities.
• Support colleagues during maintenance operations.

Qualifications & Experience

• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining power and control systems on marine vessels.
• Hands-on experience with control panels, PLC systems, and electronic diagnostics.
• Experience with maintenance of Caterpillar marine engines.
