Role Purpose

To oversee and coordinate all on-site construction activities for major capital projects, ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and according to quality and safety standards. This role brings quality assurance, construction management continuity and consistency to high-value projects, typically with values above USD 500 million.

Key Responsibilities

Project Oversight and Delivery

• Assure the quality and integrity of each project, bringing projects in on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee total construction field effort to ensure projects are constructed in accordance with design, specifications, budgets and schedules.
• Supervise all areas on small projects or a subset or discipline on larger projects.
• Monitor work progress and report against the plan.

Cost and Schedule Management

• Manage and control project cost and schedule of assigned disciplines or subset of on-site construction.
• Utilise Commercial processes to capture variations effectively.
• Coordinate field personnel work schedules to maximise utilisation and ensure work is delivered on schedule.

Installation and Commissioning

• Manage installation, commissioning and completion activities of materials and equipment.
• Coordinate supply and delivery of equipment, subcontractors, consumables, accommodation and other project-specific requirements in accordance with client and contract document specifications and Wood Policies & Procedures.

Safety, Quality and Environment

• Ensure safety, quality and environmental responsibilities and accountabilities have been defined and communicated to workers engaged within their area(s) of control.
• Ensure all workers within their area(s) of control receive appropriate training to perform their work in a safe, legal and competent manner, including any Health and Safety and site-specific inductions.
• Initiate safety, quality and environmental processes within their area(s) of control, including toolbox meetings, inspections, and the identification, assessment and control of risks in accordance with Wood and client requirements.

Stakeholder and Contractor Management

• Manage construction and contractor related deliverables.
• Execute the work in accordance with the quality standards and requirements specified for the project.
• Understand and manage the industrial relations environment impacting the site and report any issues as required.
• Work with engineering in the design phases to influence the design for optimum constructability.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree with a minimum of 15 years Oil and Gas industry experience, including at least 5 years on major capital projects (USD 500 million and above) with Construction Management and Site Management focus.
• Experience within an Oil and Gas operating company is highly desired and may be considered in lieu of capital project experience.
• Must be qualified to obtain a CICPA and a UAE work visa.

• Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, with a strong command of the English language.
