Role Overview
Steel Structural Engineer at Archirodon Group N.V, based in the UAE office, leading structural steel engineering and erection activities on a major Oil & Gas EPC project.

Role Purpose
Lead the structural steel erection and installation activities on a brownfield Oil & Gas project in the UAE, ensuring all steel structures are erected to specification, coordinating daily site activities across multidiscipline teams, and maintaining full compliance with project requirements, quality standards, and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
Structural Steel Erection & Installation
- Supervise and manage structural steel erection activities, including primary and secondary steel structures.
- Ensure structural steel installation is carried out as per approved GA, erection, shop, and connection drawings, MTOs, and bolt schedules.
- Monitor bolted steel connections, alignment, leveling, bolt tightening, and overall erection quality.
- Coordinate lifting and erection activities with the lifting team while ensuring compliance with approved lifting plans and HSE requirements.
Coordination & Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate daily site activities with construction teams, subcontractors, engineers, QA/QC, HSE, and project management.
- Coordinate with surveyors for setting out, alignment, levels, and dimensional verification.
- Support brownfield construction activities, including coordination with existing facilities and operational areas.
- Participate in site meetings and provide technical input related to structural steel erection and field execution.
Quality Assurance & Compliance
- Conduct site inspections and coordinate with QA/QC teams to ensure compliance with project specifications and applicable standards.
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable structural, bolting, welding, lifting, work-at-height, and site safety requirements.
- Review drawings, technical documents, and survey information and coordinate with relevant departments for any discrepancies.
Progress Monitoring & Problem Resolution
- Monitor manpower, equipment, materials, and daily progress to ensure project targets are achieved.
- Identify site constraints, technical issues, and construction delays and coordinate with concerned teams for timely resolution.
Documentation & Reporting
- Prepare and submit daily/weekly progress reports, site records, and other required documentation.
- Ensure proper documentation and updating of drawings, inspection records, and project documentation through document-control systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or relevant engineering discipline.
- Minimum 5 years of overall engineering and construction experience.
- Minimum 3 years of industrial site experience in Oil & Gas, Petrochemical, Refinery, or Power Construction.
- Proven experience in structural steel erection, particularly bolted connections and primary/secondary steel structures.
- Brownfield project experience is advantageous.
