Role Overview

Senior Technician, Fiber Optics at alfanar, based in Saudi Arabia. Responsible for splicing, termination, and testing of fiber optic cables across multiple project sites throughout the kingdom.

Role Purpose

Perform splicing and termination of fiber optic cables, supervise fiber optic cable installation and arrangement, and conduct testing of fiber optic cables after splicing and termination using OTDR and Power Meter to ensure compliance with standards and readiness for final testing.

Key Responsibilities

Splicing & Cable Preparation

• Execute fiber optic cable splicing for different types of Single Mode and Multi-Mode cables in indoor, outdoor, underground, and OPGW applications.
• Prepare and arrange fiber optic cables according to standards to ready them for splicing.

Termination & Connectorization

• Perform termination and connectorization work for fiber optic cables across projects using multiple connector types including FC, ST, LC, and SC.
• Execute termination on all Single Mode and Multi-Mode cables using different termination methods including Hot Melt and Epoxy-Polish processes.

Testing & Troubleshooting

• Conduct local testing with OTDR and Power Meter for fiber optic cables after splicing to verify compliance and readiness for final testing with witness.
• Troubleshoot fiber optic cables after splicing to identify and clear any faults prior to final testing.

Supervision & Site Management

• Supervise site team in pulling and arranging fiber optic cables before splicing to ensure cable health and compliance with standards and requirements.
• Oversee fiber optic work across all company projects throughout the kingdom as part of the project team.

Operations & Quality

• Communicate effectively with peers and supervisors and remain open to direction and feedback.
• Execute operational activities according to delivery schedules and work instructions.
• Implement quality standards for products, processes, and related activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma Degree in Electrical Institute.
• Four to six years of work experience.
