Sr. Solution Architect - Security & Cloud Architecture (Banking)

Role Overview

Senior Solution Architect - Security & Cloud Architecture at GSSTech Group, supporting large-scale digital transformation initiatives within the banking sector.

Role Purpose

Design and deliver end-to-end enterprise solution architectures that are secure, scalable, resilient, and high-performing across web, mobile, APIs, microservices, cloud platforms, and network security architectures. Provide technical leadership, architecture governance, and stakeholder management to align technology solutions with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture Design & Delivery

• Design and deliver end-to-end enterprise solution architectures aligned with business objectives and enterprise architecture standards.
• Produce high-level solution designs (HLD), low-level designs (LLD), architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Design architecture for enterprise web applications, mobile applications, APIs, microservices, and cloud-native ecosystems.
• Ensure architecture aligns with user journeys, enterprise architectural patterns, security principles, scalability, resiliency, and performance requirements.

Architecture Governance & Standards

• Develop and maintain architecture standards, governance frameworks, reference architectures, design principles, and best practices.
• Drive solution reviews, architecture governance, peer reviews, and technical design approvals.
• Improve architecture delivery processes through automation, reusable design patterns, and reference architectures.

Security Architecture

• Collaborate closely with Information Security teams to ensure confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise systems and banking data.
• Develop and implement security policies, standards, and architecture guidelines across enterprise platforms.
• Design secure network architectures including LAN, WAN, WLAN, SD-WAN, Data Center Networking, and Cloud Networking.
• Design secure enterprise environments using Network Segmentation, Firewalls, VPN, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Network Access Control (NAC), and Web Application Firewalls (WAF).

Stakeholder Management & Collaboration

• Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, delivery teams, and technology leaders to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Support Agile delivery teams by providing architectural guidance throughout the software development lifecycle.

Mentorship & Leadership

• Mentor solution architects, engineers, and technical teams on architecture best practices and emerging technologies.

Qualifications & Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Solution Architecture within enterprise environments.
• 5+ years designing enterprise web applications, mobile applications, APIs, and microservices.
• 5+ years of experience working with cloud-native technologies.
• 5+ years designing enterprise-scale distributed systems.
• 3+ years of Cyber / Information Security experience.
• Experience delivering architecture solutions within Banking or Financial Services is highly preferred.
• Strong experience integrating enterprise applications across multiple technology ecosystems.

Skills & Competencies

Enterprise & Solution Architecture

• Strong experience designing enterprise-scale software solutions.
• Expertise in solution architecture for Web Applications, Mobile Applications, APIs, Microservices, and Event-driven Architectures.
• Strong understanding of software engineering principles and modern architecture patterns.
• Experience designing highly available, resilient, scalable, and secure enterprise platforms.

Application Architecture

• Strong expertise in Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, API Gateways, Event Streaming, Message Brokers, Integration Architecture, Mobile Application Architecture, and Cloud-Native Application Design.

Security Architecture

• Strong experience in Authentication, Authorization, Encryption, Application Security, Infrastructure Security, Cloud Security, Logging & Monitoring, Secure API Design, OWASP Top 10, and Zero Trust Architecture.
• Hands-on experience implementing security frameworks including ISO 27001, NIST, and PCI-DSS.

Cloud & Infrastructure

• Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift, Containers, Service Mesh, Virtualization, and Cloud Native Architecture.
• Experience with cloud platforms: Microsoft Azure, AWS, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and Red Hat OpenShift.

Network Security

• Strong understanding of Firewalls, VPN, IDS/IPS, Network Access Control (NAC), Web Application Firewall (WAF), Proxy Technologies, Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA), Network Segmentation, Load Balancing, Traffic Engineering, and Application Delivery Controllers.

Enterprise Architecture Tools

• Experience with Enterprise Architect, Architecture Repository Tools, Data Modelling Tools, and Architecture Governance Frameworks.
