Specialist - CAMO

Role Overview

Specialist - CAMO at General Civil Aviation Authority. The role supports certification, approval, audit, and continued oversight of aircraft maintenance organizations and operators within the UAE aviation system.

Role Purpose

Ensure effective management of certification, approval, and audit activities in line with established guidelines and technical authority requirements. Maintain compliance with international aviation standards, support safety improvements, and coordinate with domestic and international stakeholders to uphold aviation safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

Certification & Approval

• Manage certification and approval activities in line with stipulated guidelines.
• Issue relevant certificates and approvals per the Technical Authority Manual.
• Recommend certification and approval status as required.
• Carry out certification and inspections to ensure clients comply with established aviation regulations and standards.

Audit & Oversight

• Provide inputs in development of the annual oversight audit and surveillance program to ensure compliance with standards and regulations.
• Ensure timely and up-to-date data in Q-Pulse auditing system to maintain compliance with GCAA roles and functions.
• Implement corrective actions raised against the Department during internal surveillance programs.
• Support administration of all auditing activities by external entities of Safety Affairs, including ICAO and IMS.
• Ascertain alignment of Safety Affairs standards with international standards and continuous improvement practices.

Investigations & Safety Concerns

• Ensure investigations such as ROSI are carried out to determine the cause of incidents and prevent future occurrences.
• Direct coordination with other disciplines as necessary.
• Support establishment of a safety concerns resolution process.
• Ensure organizational response addresses safety concerns with acceptable preventative measures.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Networking

• Participate in regular internal and external meetings and forums related to Airworthiness and maintenance.
• Facilitate stakeholder collaboration and maintain open channels of communication and discussion.
• Undertake exchange of information with foreign stakeholders, including original equipment manufacturers, foreign regulatory authorities, and international aviation bodies on safety issues.
• Share experience and ensure UAE actions and contributions to the international aviation community.

Continuous Improvement

• Participate in continuous improvement programs within Airworthiness per set guidelines and project charter.
• Enhance existing systems and processes to align with GCAA objectives.
• Support GCAA readiness to face future aviation system demands.

Safety Standards Development

• Assist the Sr. Manager CAMO in developing safety standards covering Air Operators and CAMO functions.
• Ensure all safety standards, processes, and procedures adhere to national regulations and international standards and recommended practices.

Safety Policy & Culture

• Assist in providing input into identification of Acceptable Levels of Safety Performance (ALOSP).
• Ensure appropriate and achievable safety performance targets are set.

Document Management

• Maintain comprehensive records of relevant certifications, reports, recommendations, and general documents.
• Ensure accurate record and evidence base.
