Specialist - Business Continuity

Role Overview

Specialist - Business Continuity at flydubai. The role is based at flydubai's location and focuses on developing, applying, designing, and validating the Business Continuity Management System organization-wide while providing specialist knowledge in the subject.

Role Purpose

To develop, apply, design, and validate the Business Continuity Management System organization-wide and provide specialist knowledge and support across flydubai to ensure the company is prepared to face disruptions and maintain operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

Risk Identification & Mitigation

• Identify risks and potential impacts to the business and flydubai brand.
• Recommend appropriate mitigation actions.

Framework & Standards Compliance

• Establish a robust framework for corporate business continuity in accordance with ISO 22301 standards.
• Monitor corporate policy changes requiring updates affecting business continuity.
• Align business continuity policies with organizational directives.
• Monitor industry and regulatory updates for continued compliance.
• Incorporate procedural changes within flydubai as required.

Planning & Effectiveness Review

• Plan and review the effectiveness of response mechanisms to identified risks and impacts.
• Conduct periodic reviews of business continuity plans, processes, and procedures.
• Ensure effectiveness of processes and procedures, adjusting as needed.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Consolidation

• Collaborate with all departments to identify, standardize, and consolidate existing continuity plans.
• Ensure alignment with other business areas.
• Liaise with supply chain and key stakeholders.
• Align, optimize, and validate business continuity plans for effectiveness and resilience.

Testing, Training & Documentation

• Lead testing and training of Business Continuity actions and response at all levels.
• Provide documented feedback and recommendations for continuous improvement.

Best Practices & Research

• Develop best practices for business continuity.
• Provide guidance to flydubai departments to enhance resilience and operational effectiveness.
• Lead continued research into industry learnings.
• Promote insights within flydubai to enhance response and resilience.

Crisis Management & Representation

• Represent the Business Continuity department within the Crisis Management Centre on a rostered basis.
• Provide input and support during activations, exercises, and related response activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree with 3 or more years of professional experience.
• Degree in Risk Management, Resilience Management, or a related discipline.
• 7 to 9 years of experience with qualifications.
• Experience applying Business Continuity best practices.
• Experience working with multiple business areas and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Certified Business Continuity Institute (CBCI) certification or higher.

Additional Information
