Solution Architect

Role Overview

Solution Architect at webook.com, Saudi Arabia's #1 event ticketing and experience booking platform by technology, features, agility, and revenue. The platform serves some of the largest mega events in the Kingdom with over 2 billion in sales.

Role Purpose

Provide technical vision and strategic direction to align the development team with business objectives, while taking full responsibility for code quality, system security, infrastructure stability, speed, and scalability across all software production and application lifecycle management.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Vision & Strategy

• Provide technical vision and direction to ensure the development team is aligned with the business strategy.
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies, and processes to ensure the highest quality product platform.
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and technologies to ensure applications remain cutting-edge.

Code Quality & Security

• Take over technical responsibility for code quality, system security, and all development on IT infrastructure.
• Ensure system stability, speed, and scalability across the platform.
• Advise on and implement best practices for software development and documentation.
• Debug and resolve technical issues and optimize web application performance.

System Design & Implementation

• Oversee the design and implementation of IT systems to ensure appropriate and cost-effective solutions are being built.
• Manage the end-to-end lifecycle for the production of software and applications.
• Maintain high levels of performance and reliability within the architecture.

Leadership & Team Management

• Lead and mentor a team of developers, engineers, and other technology specialists.
• Work closely with front-end developers, designers, and other teams to ensure seamless integration of components.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to translate business requirements into system requirements.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams for the integration of new technology.

Technical Development

• Develop and maintain backend components using PHP Laravel.
• Implement web solutions using React JS for seamless user interfaces.
• Integrate and manage content using Contentful CMS.
• Collaborate in the development and maintenance of databases and APIs.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
• Proven 12+ years of experience in PHP Laravel and React JS development.
• Full-stack development experience is a must.
• Database architecture and implementation skills with experience in MongoDB, Redis, or similar NoSQL database systems.
• Strong expertise in Contentful CMS.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in web technologies, including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with version control systems, such as Git.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment and utilize judgment in managing risk and uncertainty.
