Software Engineer (For UAE Nationals)

Role Overview

Software Engineer position at Emirates NBD for UAE Nationals. This role is based in the UAE.

Role Purpose

Develop high-quality applications by designing and implementing testable, scalable code while maintaining existing software systems and delivering secure, efficient solutions across web and cloud platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Development

• Develop quality software and web applications.
• Write efficient, scalable, and well-designed code using core Java and enterprise frameworks.
• Design highly scalable, testable code.

Architecture & Design

• Design and build secure RESTful APIs and microservices architecture.
• Containerize applications using Docker and deploy them via Kubernetes or cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Perform unit and integration testing, troubleshoot issues, and execute code reviews.
• Discover and fix programming bugs.

Maintenance & Analysis

• Analyze and maintain existing software applications.

Database & Infrastructure

• Work with relational databases including MySQL, PostgreSQL, and Oracle.
• Work with NoSQL databases or caching layers such as Redis.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related field.
• 0–2 years' development experience with programming languages.
• Strong proficiency in Java and Object-Oriented Design (OOD).
• SQL database or relational database skills.
• Experience with frameworks such as Spring Boot, Spring MVC, or Hibernate.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, Git, and testing tools including JUnit and Mockito.
