Site Manager

Role Overview

Site Manager at Al Tayer Group, Dubai, UAE. The role is responsible for planning, organizing, and coordinating project execution on site and with internal departments to ensure completion within specified timeframes, in an organized and cost-effective manner, in accordance with approved design and quality standards, meeting customer satisfaction and maintaining business continuity.

Role Purpose

To plan, organize, and coordinate the project execution process on site and with internal departments, ensuring completion of the job within specified timeframes, in an organized and cost-effective manner, in accordance with the approved design and quality standards, so as to meet customer satisfaction and maintain continuity of business.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning and Implementation

• Prepare project implementation plans and organize resources including men, material, tools, and equipment to ensure installation of finished products at customer sites and enable the company to meet contractual obligations and customer satisfaction.
• Organize design of the project installation based on layout provided by the client or consultant and obtain design approval from the client to arrange systematic installation at the site.
• Conduct site meetings with consultants and clients, answer their queries, make changes at the site if required, and organize additional quotations for any additional work.

Procurement and Subcontractor Management

• Receive quotations from labor subcontractors, identify the most cost-effective contractor, obtain approval, and arrange the appointment in conjunction with the Quantity Survey Department.
• Complete all formalities related to subcontractors in coordination with Quantity Survey and Accounts departments.
• Receive snag lists from consultants, arrange subcontractors for various works, and monitor all jobs for timely completions and compliance to client specifications.

Compliance and Safety

• Maintain all internal HSE, QA, and QC procedures and maintain all schedules accordingly.
• Ensure all municipal and legal formalities are complied with and completed as required.
• Ensure all project close-out procedures are adhered to.

On-Site Supervision and Quality Control

• Supervise the site at all times, provide on-the-spot guidance to ensure high quality craftsmanship, and keep the client or consultant posted on the progress of project installation.
• Ensure that quality assurance checks are conducted on finished products before delivery to the consultant or client site to confirm that products meet all specifications provided by clients.
• Solve problems as they arise to achieve smooth implementation of installation as per plan.

Commercial and Administrative Management

• Coordinate with Quantity Survey team on all commercial issues and solve them.
• Approve invoices for submission and ensure that credit is collected in full and on due date to avoid delay or litigation.
• Ensure all contract documentation, schedules, and reports are completed accurately and submitted to concerned parties in adherence to defined timelines.

Client and Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with clients and various other agencies to ensure that the project is completed as per required standards and meets client expectations.
• Ensure the handover of site upon completion to the client and obtain a completion certificate from the client that the site has been handed over to their satisfaction to avoid any dispute at a later stage.

People Management

• Guide and motivate subordinates to enhance performance and produce quality work, and ensure that they are continuously developed for higher level roles.

Qualifications & Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• 5 to 8 years of experience in the construction industry handling fit-out and turnkey works (for Project Engineer level).
