Role Overview

Senior Structural Engineer at MIRA Construction. Head office supervision position based on the employer's location.

Role Purpose

Supervise the construction of structural-related works, coordinate with the design and construction teams, review technical documentation, and ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the structural delivery phase.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Coordination

• Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of structural-related works.
• Coordinate the activities with the other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
• Coordinate with design engineers for resolution of related issues.
• Direct, assist and monitor the performance of the inspectors and surveyors as applicable.

Technical Review & Documentation

• Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other activities.
• Maintain the daily diary and the daily reports by the inspectors.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
• Ensure correctness and completeness of 'as-built' drawings within his line of work.
• Keep necessary records and as-built records.

Stakeholder Management & Meetings

• Convene and chair special meetings with the service authorities, the contractor, subcontractors and other parties related to his work.
• Take charge of the handing over of the structural works to the respective service authorities and assist the contractor to obtain necessary final clearance.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project and oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.

Reporting

• Prepare / Assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in structural design and construction, with a strong focus on buildings.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in the construction field in UAE.
• Knowledge of local Authority standards and regulations is essential.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in utilising CAD, Revit and other PC software packages associated with structural modelling, analysis and design.
• English language proficiency.
