Senior Structural Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Structural Engineer at MIRA Construction, based at the head office with responsibility for on-site supervision of structural construction works.

Role Purpose

Supervise structural-related construction activities, coordinate with design and construction teams, review technical documentation, and ensure compliance with safety standards, regulations, and project quality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Supervision & Coordination

• Report to the Resident Engineer and assist in supervising the construction of structural-related works.
• Coordinate activities with other engineers and members of the construction supervision team.
• Direct, assist and monitor the performance of inspectors and surveyors as applicable.

Technical Review & Design Coordination

• Review shop drawings, design proposals, method statements and other technical activities.
• Coordinate with design engineers for resolution of related issues.
• Ensure correctness and completeness of as-built drawings within the scope of structural work.

Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily diary and daily reports submitted by inspectors.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of records.
• Keep necessary records and as-built records.
• Prepare or assist in the preparation of Weekly and Monthly progress reports.

Stakeholder Management & Meetings

• Convene and chair special meetings with service authorities, the contractor, subcontractors and other related parties.
• Take charge of handing over structural works to respective service authorities.
• Assist the contractor to obtain necessary final clearance.

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safety goals are achieved on the project.
• Oversee implementation of safety procedures on the project.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of experience in structural design and construction, with strong focus on buildings.
• Minimum 5 years of experience working in the construction field in UAE.
• Knowledge of local Authority standards and regulations.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in CAD software.
• Proficiency in Revit.
• Proficiency in PC software packages associated with structural modelling, analysis and design.
• English language proficiency.
