Senior Solution Architect - (Digital Products & Security)

Role Overview

Senior Solution Architect – Digital Products & Security at GSSTech Group. The role supports large-scale Digital Products and Digital Onboarding initiatives, requiring deep technical expertise in designing secure, resilient, scalable, and high-performance solutions across web applications, mobile applications, microservices, APIs, cloud platforms, containers, event-driven architectures, and enterprise ecosystems.

Role Purpose

To develop and deliver end-to-end solution architectures that balance customer experience, business requirements, performance, reliability, resiliency, and security. The role requires close collaboration with product owners, business stakeholders, engineering teams, information security teams, and other architecture functions to support large-scale digital transformation and product delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Solution & Architecture Design

• Develop, maintain, and enforce architecture standards, guidelines, patterns, and best practices.
• Design and deliver end-to-end solution architectures based on requirements from product owners and business stakeholders.
• Analyze business and technical requirements and translate them into scalable, secure, and resilient architecture solutions.
• Design architectures for web applications, mobile applications, microservices, APIs, and their associated technology ecosystems.
• Ensure application designs follow established engineering best practices, architectural patterns, user journeys, and UX requirements.
• Design solutions that balance user experience, business requirements, performance, scalability, reliability, resiliency, availability, and security.
• Develop end-to-end design patterns and reusable architecture blueprints and reference architectures.

Enterprise Integration & Ecosystem

• Design and oversee integration of applications with surrounding enterprise ecosystems, including mobile applications, microservices, APIs, event streams, message brokers, containers, and cloud-native technologies.
• Design solutions integrating applications with enterprise technologies including REST/API ecosystems and distributed services.

Security & Compliance

• Collaborate with Information Security teams to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of enterprise data and technology assets.
• Ensure solution designs comply with applicable security standards, architecture principles, internal policies, and regulatory requirements.

Platform & Delivery

• Contribute to building reliable, resilient, secure, and scalable platforms.
• Deliver complete and self-sufficient architecture solutions and design documents within agreed timelines.

Optimization & Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to improve architecture and solution design workflows through automation and process optimization.

Governance & Peer Review

• Conduct architecture peer reviews and ensure proposed solutions align with established standards and reference architectures.

Knowledge & Leadership

• Deliver architecture education and knowledge-sharing workshops to architects and technology teams.
• Coach and mentor associate and junior architects.

Autonomy & Development

• Work autonomously on complex architecture decisions while seeking alignment from relevant stakeholders where required.
• Continuously develop technical and professional capabilities, with a particular focus on Security Architecture.

Qualifications & Experience

Professional Experience

• Minimum 5+ years of experience designing applications, including web and mobile applications.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience designing microservices and APIs.
• Minimum 5+ years of experience working with cloud-native technologies.
• Minimum 3+ years of experience in Cyber Security or Information Security.
• Experience designing complete end-to-end solutions across complex enterprise ecosystems.

Technical & Architectural Knowledge

• Strong overall knowledge of software engineering and solution architecture.
• Deep understanding of modern architectural patterns including microservices, API architecture, application architecture, mobile application architecture, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems.
• Strong understanding of application integration patterns and enterprise technology ecosystems.
• Strong hands-on architectural understanding of containers, Kubernetes, OpenShift, Service Mesh, and virtualization.
• Strong understanding of Security Architecture principles.
• Deep understanding of authentication, authorization, encryption, logging & monitoring, application security, OWASP Top 10, infrastructure security, cloud security, and security regulations and compliance.
• Experience collaborating with Information Security teams to embed security into solution architecture and application design.

Tools & Standards

• Experience with enterprise architecture tools such as Enterprise Architect.
• Experience with data modeling tools.
• Practical experience working with enterprise architecture standards, blueprints, reusable patterns, and reference architectures.

Preferred Experience

• Experience within banking, financial services, or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
• Experience with large-scale digital transformation programmes.
• Experience working on Digital Products and Digital Onboarding platforms.
• Experience working with complex enterprise application ecosystems.
• Experience with cloud-native modernization and distributed architectures.
• Experience working closely with Cyber Security or Information Security teams.
