Senior Software Engineer - GenAI & Node.js

Role Overview

Senior Software Engineer - GenAI & Node.js at GSSTech Group, working with one of the UAE's most recognised banks.

Role Purpose

Design and build scalable, highly available RESTful APIs in Node.js and TypeScript while engineering and fine-tuning prompts for LLM-based solutions via Azure OpenAI. Deliver real AI products used by millions of everyday banking customers across the UAE, working across Azure AI services in a fully regulated banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

Backend Engineering

• Design and build scalable, highly available RESTful APIs using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Implement asynchronous programming patterns including Promises, async/await, and event-driven architectures.
• Write non-blocking code and apply advanced techniques such as multi-threading when needed.
• Work with ORMs and ODMs including Sequelize, TypeORM, or Mongoose.
• Implement real-time communication using WebSockets.
• Document code inline using JSDoc or similar conventions.

Generative AI & Prompt Engineering

• Engineer, design, and fine-tune prompts for LLM-based solutions via APIs and SDKs.
• Work with Azure OpenAI services to deliver AI-powered banking solutions.
• Integrate Azure AI services including Speech, Language, and PII Detection.

Infrastructure & DevOps

• Containerize applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Implement CI/CD principles and actively troubleshoot distributed services.
• Apply understanding of firewall and network security concepts.
• Secure APIs in regulated banking environments according to best practices.

Quality & Automation

• Create automation test scripts.

Qualifications & Experience

• Expertise in developing scalable, highly available RESTful APIs using Node.js.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript, and the latest ECMAScript standards.
• Hands-on experience designing, fine-tuning, and engineering prompts for LLM-based solutions.
• Working knowledge of Azure AI services including Speech, Language, OpenAI, and PII Detection.
• Experience with ORMs and ODMs including Sequelize, TypeORM, or Mongoose.
• Experience with containerisation using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency in CI/CD principles.
• Arabic language proficiency — written and spoken — is mandatory.
