Role Overview

Senior Resident Engineer – Bridge, Tunnel & Infrastructure at AECOM, located in Abu Dhabi, UAE. This is a senior site supervision and construction management role for a major infrastructure project.

Role Purpose

Lead site supervision and construction management for bridge, tunnel, road and infrastructure works. Oversee day-to-day construction activities, ensure compliance with specifications and contracts, coordinate with all stakeholders, and provide technical and managerial support to ensure successful project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

Site Supervision & Construction Oversight

• Lead and manage the site supervision team.
• Oversee the day-to-day construction activities.
• Supervise and monitor construction works for bridges, tunnels, roads, utilities, and associated infrastructure works.
• Review completed works and ensure all required testing, inspection, documentation, and handover requirements are fulfilled.

Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Ensure that construction works are carried out in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, method statements, and contract requirements.
• Ensure proper implementation of QA/QC procedures and inspection requirements.
• Monitor project quality, HSE compliance, progress, and contractual requirements.

Contractor & Progress Management

• Monitor the Contractor's progress, programme, resources, and construction performance.
• Review and coordinate shop drawings, method statements, RFIs, technical submittals, and other project documentation.

Coordination & Stakeholder Management

• Coordinate with the Contractor, Client, Authorities, and other project stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure proper interface between civil, structural, utilities, and other infrastructure works.
• Lead site meetings, progress meetings, and technical coordination meetings.

Issue Resolution & Support

• Identify and resolve technical, construction, and coordination issues in a timely manner.
• Provide technical and managerial support to the Project Manager.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
• Strong experience in bridge, tunnel, road, and infrastructure projects.
• Proven experience in site supervision and construction management.
• UAE/GCC infrastructure project experience is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong knowledge of construction methods, specifications, QA/QC procedures, and contract requirements.
• Good understanding of project planning, progress monitoring, and construction coordination.
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
