Senior Process Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Process Engineer at Wood PLC. The role executes and coordinates process engineering activities for large-scale Upstream Offshore Oil & Gas projects throughout all phases of project development, including Conceptual Studies, FEED, Detailed Design, EPC, Commissioning, and Start-up.

Role Purpose

Develop process engineering deliverables, support multidisciplinary coordination, and ensure compliance with project specifications, client standards, and international codes for offshore oil and gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities

Process Engineering Deliverables

• Develop and review Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs).
• Develop and review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).
• Develop and review Process Design Basis Documents.
• Develop and review Heat and Material Balances.
• Develop and review Process Datasheets.
• Develop and review Utility Summaries.
• Develop and review Process Narratives.
• Develop and review Relief and Flare System Calculations.
• Conduct process simulations, calculations, and design studies using industry-standard software.
• Prepare equipment process specifications for separators, compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, dehydration units, and treatment systems.

Process Safety and Compliance

• Support process safety activities including HAZID, HAZOP, SIL, and LOPA studies.
• Ensure engineering deliverables comply with project requirements, international standards, and client specifications.
• Identify technical risks and recommend mitigation measures.

Coordination and Reviews

• Perform and coordinate process engineering activities for upstream offshore oil and gas projects.
• Review and comment on vendor documents and engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate with Mechanical, Piping, Instrumentation, Electrical, and Safety Engineering disciplines.
• Participate in design reviews, model reviews, technical workshops, and client meetings.

Project Execution and Support

• Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
• Support project planning, resource management, and schedule compliance.
• Interface with clients, PMC teams, EPC contractors, and vendors on technical matters.

Team Development

• Mentor and guide junior process engineers and graduate engineers.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or Process Engineering from a recognized university.
• Minimum 15 years of relevant experience in the Oil & Gas industry.
• Predominant experience in Upstream Offshore Oil & Gas projects.
• Demonstrated experience as a Senior Process Engineer on major EPC, EPCM, or PMC projects.
• PMC experience is highly preferred.
• Mandatory experience delivering large-scale offshore oil and gas projects.
• Mandatory project experience in the Middle East/GCC region.
• Proven involvement in FEED and Detailed Engineering for major offshore projects.
• Extensive experience in offshore process facilities including Central Processing Platforms (CPP), Wellhead Platforms, Oil and Gas Separation Systems, Produced Water Treatment Systems, Gas Compression Facilities, Gas Dehydration and Sweetening Systems, Offshore Pipeline Facilities, and Utility and Flare Systems.
