Senior Planning Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Planning Engineer at MIRA Construction, Dubai. The role is responsible for project planning, scheduling, progress monitoring and reporting across major construction projects.

Role Purpose

Develop, maintain and manage detailed project schedules and planning activities from project initiation through completion, ensuring accurate progress monitoring, risk identification and stakeholder reporting on large-scale construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

Schedule Development & Management

• Develop, maintain and update detailed project schedules from project initiation through completion.
• Prepare baseline schedules, detailed work programmes and resource-loaded schedules.
• Monitor key project milestones and ensure that planning data accurately reflects actual site progress.

Progress Monitoring & Analysis

• Monitor project progress against approved plans and identify potential delays and risks.
• Perform critical path analysis and assess the impact of delays on overall project completion.
• Conduct delay analysis and support the preparation of extension of time (EOT) claims.

Reporting & Forecasting

• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards and schedule updates for project management and stakeholders.
• Support project forecasting and provide management with recommendations to improve schedule performance.

Planning Support & Recovery

• Develop and support recovery and mitigation plans where project performance is behind schedule.
• Review contractors' and subcontractors' programmes and assess compliance with contractual requirements.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate planning activities with Project Managers, Site Teams, Engineers, Contractors and other stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related field.
• Minimum 10 years of experience as a Planning Engineer or Project Controls Engineer.
• Proven experience on large-scale construction projects.
• Strong knowledge of project scheduling methodologies, critical path analysis and progress monitoring.
• Experience with delay analysis, recovery planning and EOT claims.
• Good understanding of project controls and construction project lifecycle.
• Experience working with contractors and/or consultancy companies is highly preferred.
