Role Overview
Senior Mechanical Engineer - Static (Greenfield) with Wood PLC. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced PMC Lead Static Engineer with a proven track record in overseeing the design, development, and implementation of static equipment, ensuring their functionality, safety, and compliance with project specifications and industry standards for a high-profile client.

Role Purpose
Provide technical expertise and leadership in mechanical static equipment design for greenfield projects. Lead the coordination, monitoring, and quality assurance of static equipment design and engineering activities with EPC Contractors and internal teams. Ensure all design and engineering work complies with relevant codes, ADNOC standards, and industry best practices while resolving technical issues across disciplines to maintain quality engineering execution and integrity.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Technical Expertise
- Provide technical expertise in all mechanical static equipment design
- Ensure design and engineering compliance with relevant codes and ADNOC standards
- Perform regular and timely technical reviews of Mechanical Static Engineering deliverables developed by engineering consultants and contractors
- Ensure quality and accuracy of Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's Mechanical Static Engineering design activities
- Review and approve Engineering Consultant's and EPC Contractor's work and ensure compliance with ADNOC project specifications, relevant codes and standards, and best industry practices
Coordination & Integration
- Coordinate, monitor and handle static equipment design and engineering with EPC Contractor as per project expectation and complete the same within the time frame
- Ensure integration of overall Mechanical Static Engineering and overall coordination within IPMT Mechanical Static Engineering Team
- Participate in teams for equipment sizing and equipment selection considering optimization and standardization
- Coordinate the required engineering participation in the development and analysis of various design options and business models
- Contribute input and expertise in the development and analysis of various design options and business models to design optimization and validation
- Coordinate technical reviews and bid evaluation, and performance evaluation
Governance & Standards
- Ensure that the facilities are designed in accordance with the latest corporate guidelines with respect to environment and health aspects
- Ensure full utilization of the existing facilities while optimizing the facilities required for the new projects
Stakeholder Management & Collaboration
- Work with other discipline engineers within IPMT, EPC Contractor, ADNOC Engineering, Operation and Site Interface to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Discipline Engineering execution and integrity
- Provide technical assistance and coordination with other discipline engineers
- Participate in layout reviews, model review, design reviews, and technical workshops
- Provide technical assistance during installation, pre-commissioning and commissioning
- Interface with Managers, Team Leaders and Engineers in the Company's Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations Units, and Logistics Department
- Interface regularly with Contractor's Engineering and Project Management team and discipline engineers as required
Reporting & Leadership
- Report to ADNOC Discipline Team Leader, Engineering Manager, and provide support to Project Managers and Engineers within the Project Management Team organization
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in oil and gas industry
- Experience and detailed knowledge of relevant international codes and standards
Skills & Competencies
