Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer at Wood PLC. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Instrumentation Engineer (Packages and Field Instruments) with a proven track record in the detailed design of ADNOC projects.

Role Purpose
Design, model, and analyze Packages and Field Instrument engineering requirements on projects, tenders or proposals as per client standards, international codes, and project scope of work. Lead the planning and execution of instrumentation engineering design for field instrumentation, Distributed Control System (DCS), Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA), Integrated Control System (ICS), Fire and Gas, Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS) and Telecommunications systems.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Engineering
- Execute the preparation of basic design and detailed design of the instrumentation and controls part of the project.
- Prepare data sheets, Cause and effect diagrams, logic verifications, and Input to interdepartmental interfaces.
- Ensure that design is carried out as per industry standard practices and in conformance with the quality management system.
- Demonstrate working hands-on experience on SPI with mandatory knowledge and experience in Index, I/O List, Data sheets and Loop drawing.
Project Coordination and Delivery
- Lead instrumentation projects, coordinate with teams, and manage budgets.
- Coordinate with Project and client throughout execution.
- Assist in the preparation of project proposals and pre-qualification documents relating to Instrumentation engineering design.
- Prepare Construction work packs.
- Execute TBE, VDR and follow-up engineering activities.
Operations and Compliance
- Ensure all instrumentation adheres to industry standards and regulatory requirements.
- Maintain full coherency with all international codes and standards.
- Diagnose and resolve issues to maintain seamless operations.
- Identify issues that impede project progress and report to Project Managers and Discipline Heads.
Continuous Improvement
- Research and integrate new technologies to improve system capabilities.
- Assimilate the evolution of new products and technology and update yourself on the latest international standards in engineering design practices and their applications.
- Identify new methodology of work processes required for higher productivity.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 15+ years of experience predominantly in oil and gas upstream offshore industry working for competitors organizations such as Kent, KBR, Worley, Petrofac, Saipem.
- PMC experience is highly preferable.
- Large projects experience is mandatory.
- Middle East / GCC experience on projects with Saudi Aramco, Qatar Energy, PDO, etc.
- Offshore design experience and RLE FPSO experience are mandatory.
- Previous experience of working in the Middle East would be an advantage.
Skills & Competencies
- Fully coherent in all international codes and standards.
- Working knowledge and experience of electrical discipline relevant to offshore/onshore oil and gas industry codes, specifications and practices.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
- SPI knowledge and experience is mandatory.
- Enthusiastic, conscientious and keen to learn.
- Flexible with a can-do attitude.
