Role Overview

Senior Infrastructure Engineer (Saudi National) at DeepSource Technologies, Riyadh, KSA. The role is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing enterprise IT infrastructure environments with strong hands-on experience across servers, virtualization, cloud platforms, storage, networking, backup, and infrastructure security.

Role Purpose

Design, deploy, and maintain enterprise infrastructure environments while ensuring high availability, performance, and security of critical systems. Troubleshoot complex technical issues, automate routine activities, and provide technical leadership to support reliable service delivery across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design & Deployment

• Design, deploy, configure, and maintain enterprise infrastructure environments.
• Participate in high-availability, disaster recovery, migration, upgrade, and infrastructure transformation projects.

Systems Administration

• Manage Windows Server and/or Linux systems, including patching, upgrades, performance tuning, and troubleshooting.
• Administer virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere/ESXi, Hyper-V, or equivalent technologies.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related Microsoft infrastructure services.

Cloud & Hybrid Infrastructure

• Support cloud and hybrid-cloud environments, particularly Microsoft Azure and/or AWS.

Storage, Backup & Disaster Recovery

• Configure and maintain enterprise storage, backup, and disaster recovery solutions.

Networking & Infrastructure Support

• Support LAN/WAN infrastructure and coordinate with network and security teams when required.

Monitoring & Performance

• Monitor infrastructure availability, capacity, and performance and proactively address potential issues.

Security & Compliance

• Implement infrastructure security standards, access controls, system hardening, vulnerability remediation, and patch management.

Incident Management & Analysis

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure incidents and perform root-cause analysis.

Automation & Documentation

• Automate routine infrastructure activities using tools such as PowerShell, Bash, Python, or infrastructure automation platforms.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, architecture diagrams, procedures, and operational standards.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
• Work closely with application, cybersecurity, network, database, and cloud teams to ensure reliable service delivery.
• Follow ITIL-based processes for incident, problem, change, and configuration management.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• 3+ years of experience in IT infrastructure/system engineering, including significant experience in enterprise environments.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of Windows Server and/or Linux administration.
• Strong experience with VMware, Hyper-V, or similar virtualization technologies.
• Good knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, and identity/access management.
• Experience with Azure, AWS, or hybrid-cloud infrastructure.
• Experience with enterprise SAN/NAS storage, backup, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
• Knowledge of infrastructure monitoring and management tools.
• Strong understanding of high availability, business continuity, security, and infrastructure best practices.

Skills & Competencies

• Understanding of enterprise networking concepts including TCP/IP, VLANs, routing, firewalls, VPNs, and load balancing.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and root-cause-analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in business-critical environments.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills.

Additional Information

Preferred Qualifications

• Certifications such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, VMware VCP, Red Hat RHCE, Microsoft, Cisco, or ITIL.
• Experience with infrastructure automation using PowerShell, Ansible, Terraform, Python, or Bash.
• Experience supporting large-scale, highly available enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes is an advantage.
