Senior GIS Specialist

Role Overview

Senior GIS Specialist at HILL International. This is a 5-month project-based position.

Role Purpose

Manage GIS and geospatial data requirements for infrastructure and engineering projects. Develop and maintain enterprise GIS databases and spatial datasets while ensuring compliance with project standards and data models. Integrate GIS datasets with various platforms, perform advanced spatial analysis, and support engineering and design teams with mapping solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Database and Data Management

• Develop, maintain, and govern enterprise GIS databases and spatial datasets.
• Establish GIS governance procedures, quality assurance processes, and metadata standards.
• Review GIS deliverables and ensure compliance with project GIS standards and data models.

Integration and Interoperability

• Integrate GIS datasets with BIM, CAD, engineering, survey, and digital twin platforms.
• Support digital engineering initiatives and information management strategies.

Spatial Analysis and Solutions

• Perform advanced spatial analysis for transportation, utilities, and land development projects.
• Support engineering, design, and construction teams with spatial analysis and mapping solutions.

Governance and Standards

• Manage GIS and geospatial data requirements for infrastructure and engineering projects.
• Establish GIS governance procedures, quality assurance processes, and metadata standards.

Stakeholder Coordination

• Coordinate with engineers, planners, surveyors, and external stakeholders.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in GIS, Geomatics, Geography, Surveying, or related field.
• Minimum 10 years of GIS experience in infrastructure or engineering projects.
• Experience integrating GIS with BIM, CAD, Digital Twin Platforms, and Asset Management Systems.
• Knowledge of LiDAR, UAV, photogrammetry, and survey data processing.
• Understanding of infrastructure corridors, transportation networks, and land management systems.
• Experience in multidisciplinary project delivery.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Pro, and ArcGIS Online.
• Proficiency in FME and Spatial Databases.
• Ability to develop GIS standards, workflows, and governance frameworks.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
