Senior Field Service Engineer

Role Overview

Senior Field Service Engineer at Hitachi Energy Ltd, based in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. Full-time position.

Role Purpose

Provide technical field service support to customers through commissioning, installation, testing, and troubleshooting of high voltage equipment. Deliver expert advice on product upgrades and resolve complex equipment start-up issues to meet customer operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

Installation, Testing & Commissioning

• Conduct site visits for installation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting of Hitachi HV GIS, GCB, LTB, DTB, and other equipment as assigned.
• Perform GIS Bay or GIS compartment assembly work and minor fabrications as required.
• Operate test equipment used for HV product testing, commissioning, and maintenance work.
• Learn and apply procedures and methods for using special tools required for HV product service jobs.

Troubleshooting & Quality Assurance

• Identify and correct complex problems associated with equipment start-up.
• Troubleshoot and rectify HV product defects workable at customer site.
• Advise on action plans for repair work requiring completion at Hitachi Energy factory or workshop.
• Research, evaluate, and recommend new products or equipment upgrades to meet customer needs.

Project & Site Management

• Participate in the PGHV project and work with the project team as assigned.
• Work with Project Management team on various projects with full compliance of PM requirements.
• Support PGHV Service activities at site and customer workplace.
• Lead contractors or sub-contractors during job execution and coordinate with customer and back-office support for resource requirements.
• Obtain PAC or time sheets signed by the customer after task completion for invoicing purposes.

Tools & Equipment Coordination

• Coordinate and interface with tools management department for HV tools.
• Arrange and properly use test equipment and tools for HV product installation, testing, and commissioning.

Reporting & Documentation

• Prepare and provide site reports, activity plans, and resource requirements to PM, line manager, or supervisor.
• Prepare method of statement as required for customer sharing or contractual purposes.
• Prepare and submit weekly and monthly time sheets and expense reports per company guideline in timely manner.
• Prepare travel authorization prior to site deployment or travel.

Knowledge Sharing & Development

• Share knowledge and teach known skills to fellow engineers and technicians.

Compliance & Safety

• Follow company rules and regulations and display good behaviour at office and site.
• Report any safety or integrity incident to line manager, supervisor, or Project Manager.
• Implement Hitachi Energy values in day-to-day activity.

• Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering.
• 6–10 years of experience in high voltage products, electrical equipment, switchgears, and HV switchgear protection and control.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficiency in both spoken and written English language.
• Proficiency in both spoken and written Arabic language.
