Role Overview

Senior Digital Forensics Examiner at TransPerfect. The role involves forensic preservation of digital media devices and cloud-based systems, independent case management, and expert testimony in legal proceedings.

Role Purpose

To independently perform forensic preservation, processing, and extraction of digital artifacts from computer operating systems, mobile devices, and cloud-based systems while managing cases, maintaining detailed documentation, and providing expert testimony and findings reports.

Key Responsibilities

Forensic Collection & Preservation

• Manage and track electronic evidence.
• Utilize leading forensic software to identify, collect, preserve and analyze electronic data from laptops, desktops, cell phones, email and cloud-based systems.
• Perform email collections and eFile conversions.
• Perform social media collections and preservation.

Project & Case Management

• Manage client relationships and collection projects from inception to completion.
• Conduct project scoping and workflow conception.
• Execute forensically sound collections through proposed workflows.
• Identify relevant data and coordinate data handoffs to internal processing teams.
• Manage and coordinate with additional personnel to assist throughout project lifespans.
• Maintain detailed project-related notes and documentation.
• Enter project-related monthly billing.

Expert Testimony & Reporting

• Provide depositions and testimonies pertaining to all aspects of managed projects and collections on an as-needed basis.
• Generate concise, forensically accurate, and unbiased findings reports on an as-needed basis.

Training & Development

• Mentor and train junior practitioners.

Qualifications & Experience

• Ability to independently perform forensic preservation and understand actions required to process and extract artifacts from computer operating systems.
• Ability to process data from Android and iOS-based mobile devices.
• Ability to manage time and cases independently while troubleshooting technical hurdles.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong written communication skills.
• Strong oral communication skills.
• Knowledge and experience sufficient to provide expert testimony in legal proceedings.
