Senior Consultant - Environmental Supervision

Role Overview

Senior Consultant - Environmental Supervision at WSP Middle East. The role is project-based, on-site in a remote area in KSA.

Role Purpose

Provide experienced environmental supervision, audits, and management systems oversight to ensure contractor compliance with project environmental requirements and deliver comprehensive environmental monitoring and reporting across all project phases.

Key Responsibilities

Environmental Audits and Inspections

• Undertake environmental audits and inspections on site.
• Provide support and guidance to contractors to achieve compliance against the Project's environmental requirements.
• Undertake environmental reconnaissance surveys and pre-construction site assessments.

Environmental Management Systems

• Regularly review and update the environmental management system and propose corrective actions as needed.
• Oversee the implementation of environmental management systems.
• Review and approve Construction and Social Environmental Management Plans (CESMPs), Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA) reports, and other environmental studies as needed.

Monitoring and Reporting

• Prepare environmental monitoring and audit reports.
• Review weekly and monthly environmental reports from the contractors.
• Report environmental incidents on site, undertake necessary investigation and reporting, and follow up on corrective actions and plans.

Stakeholder Engagement and Communication

• Develop and implement a project-specific communication strategy.
• Implement environmental awareness campaigns and conduct environmental training as necessary.

Qualifications & Experience

• BSc and MSc degree in a relevant environmental or engineering discipline.
• 10+ years' experience working in environmental supervision.
• Extensive experience working with environmental management systems, preferably ISO 14001 certified.
• Significant proofing, editing and report collation experience.

• Ability to work across multiple disciplines and flexible mindset to working.
• Experience in providing technical alternatives and solutions to technical clarifications for clients.
• Excellent written English and verbal communication, presentation and organisational skills.
• Robust project management, time management and client management skills.
• Collaborative mindset and outcome-driven working method.
