Senior CAD/GIS Specialist - Metro

Role Overview

Senior CAD/GIS Specialist position with Egis Group, supporting Metro Project Management and Construction Management in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Leverage advanced technical expertise in computer-aided design and geographic information systems to support the planning, design, and execution of metro infrastructure projects. Create detailed technical documentation, analyze spatial data, coordinate with project teams, and mentor junior technicians to ensure project success and adherence to the highest technical standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Documentation

• Develop and maintain comprehensive CAD models and technical drawings for metro infrastructure projects using industry-standard software such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
• Conduct spatial analysis and create detailed GIS maps to support project planning, design, and decision-making processes.
• Analyze project requirements and provide technical recommendations to optimize design efficiency and feasibility.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate CAD and GIS data for comprehensive project visualization and analysis.

Data Management & Quality Assurance

• Manage and organize project data, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established technical standards and protocols.
• Prepare and update project databases, ensuring all spatial and design information is current and accessible to relevant stakeholders.
• Conduct quality assurance reviews of technical drawings and GIS data to identify and resolve discrepancies.
• Proficiency in data management systems and database applications.

Coordination & Collaboration

• Coordinate with engineering, project management, and construction teams to translate design requirements into precise technical documentation.
• Experience with project coordination and cross-functional team collaboration.

Mentoring & Development

• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior CAD/GIS technicians, fostering professional development and maintaining quality standards.
• Proven ability to mentor and guide junior technical staff.

Documentation & Reporting

• Document technical processes, maintain project records, and generate reports as required for project tracking and compliance.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 8 years of professional experience in CAD/GIS technical roles, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead capacity.
• Demonstrated experience with metro, transit, or large-scale infrastructure projects.
• Knowledge of infrastructure design principles and construction management practices (preferred).

Skills & Competencies

• Advanced proficiency in CAD software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or equivalent design platforms.
• Expert-level experience with GIS software such as ArcGIS, QGIS, or comparable systems.
• Strong knowledge of spatial data analysis, cartography, and geographic information systems.
• Proficiency in technical drawing standards, design conventions, and project documentation requirements.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
• Familiarity with project management tools and methodologies.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to present technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with meticulous attention to detail.
• Experience with 3D modeling and visualization tools (preferred).
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian infrastructure standards and regulations (preferred).
