Senior Architect (Site Supervision) at AtkinsRéalis. This role oversees the full spectrum of architecture design for different asset types, serving as a capable professional in an architectural design team, leading work on specific elements of a project with minimal direction and supervision of a Senior Architect or senior team member.

Role Purpose

To manage the full spectrum of architectural design across diverse asset types, lead multidisciplinary design teams from concept to completion, ensure compliance with design standards and safety principles, and deliver high-quality architectural solutions that meet project objectives and stakeholder requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Scope & Schedule Management

• Manage scope and schedule, ensuring alignment with project objectives.
• Prepare and track relevant Capex documentation.

Design & Compliance

• Ensure compliance with project requirements and design standards.
• Support integration of design packages across disciplines.
• Ensure Design and Asset Brief compliance, maintaining accuracy and completeness.
• Develop and review architectural asset briefs, manuals, and standard design documents.
• Monitor technical compliance throughout design and construction phases.

Design Delivery

• Deliver Architecture mandate as part of the Senior Management team, including stakeholder engagement.
• Manage the design process creatively, emphasizing aesthetic excellence.
• Collaborate with Design Group, Delivery team, and Project team on design delivery from concept to completion.
• Deliver architectural designs for diverse typologies: residential, mixed-use, commercial, public, healthcare, educational, civic, and cultural.
• Prepare, develop, and edit drawings and presentations effectively.
• Supervise production from visualization through pre-concept, concept, developed, and detailed design stages.
• Draft comprehensive architectural documentation from concept through detailed design.
• Solve design issues creatively while adhering to budget and design approach.

Design Review & Quality Assurance

• Lead qualitative architectural design reviews, offering analysis, comments, and recommendations to Executive Management.
• Conduct design reviews and recommend solutions aligned with business goals and global standards.
• Provide strategic guidance on technical design standards and philosophy.

Team Leadership & Oversight

• Oversee and manage Architects, Designers, Managers, and Professionals within the department.
• Lead multidisciplinary teams in delivering complex, high-profile projects.
• Build consensus among team members to ensure the best contributions.
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and large-scale projects.

Materials & Documentation Management

• Oversee preparation of materials schedules, sample boards, FF&E schedules, sourcing, and mock-ups.

Stakeholder & Consultant Coordination

• Communicate and coordinate with consultants, contractors, and NEOM departments.

Safety & Sustainability

• Champion Safety in Design principles and implementation.
• Familiarity with Statutory Authorities requirements and Sustainable Design principles.

Qualifications & Experience

• 13+ years of architectural design and management experience post-undergraduate.
• B.Arch or B.Sc. in Architecture from a recognized university.
• Postgraduate degree in Architecture or Urban Design.
• International accreditations (RIBA, AIA, or equivalent).
• Proven expertise in managing international design consultants across sectors and typologies.
• Experience in residential, commercial, public, healthcare, and educational designs.
• Construction experience is preferred.
• Demonstrated success in large, complex programs with a focus on quality and innovation.
• Sustainability certifications (LEED, PQP, or equivalent) are highly desirable.

Skills & Competencies

• Excellent conceptual and aesthetic design skills.
• Understanding of financial and commercial project management.
• Comprehensive knowledge of risk management, scope definition, and scope interfaces.
• Full knowledge of international standards, policies, codes, and procedures.
• Expertise in architectural and urban design to create holistic built environments.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Proficient in Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, and Adobe Suite; Grasshopper and V-Ray are a plus.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to meet tight deadlines and budgets.
• Proactive and self-motivated with a flexible, collaborative attitude.
