Role Overview

Senior Architect at WSP Middle East, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Role Purpose

Lead architectural design projects from concept development through construction completion, ensuring compliance with project requirements, design standards, and regulatory guidelines while providing technical guidance to design teams and coordinating with multidisciplinary stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Planning

• Lead architectural design projects from concept development through to construction completion, ensuring compliance with project requirements, design standards, and regulatory guidelines.
• Develop and review architectural drawings, plans, and specifications, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and constructability.
• Conduct site assessments, surveys, and investigations to gather data and inform design decisions.
• Prepare design presentations, reports, and documentation for client meetings and project stakeholders.

Collaboration & Coordination

• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, and landscape architects, to integrate architectural designs into overall project plans.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies to address architectural design requirements, resolve technical issues, and obtain necessary approvals.

Quality & Construction Oversight

• Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, quality, and adherence to design specifications.
• Review and evaluate contractor submittals, requests for information (RFIs), and proposed design changes.

Leadership & Development

• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior architects and design team members.

Professional Development

• Stay abreast of industry trends, innovations, and best practices in architectural design and construction.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 15 years of experience in architectural design roles within the consultancy sector, with a focus on site supervision for infrastructure projects.
• Strong background in site supervision for projects such as roads, tunnels, bridges, and highways.
• Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a related field; Master's degree is preferred.
• Professional licensure or registration as an Architect is advantageous.
• Experience working on projects in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East region is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong design skills and proficiency in architectural software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SketchUp.
• Knowledge of building codes, zoning regulations, and construction standards.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
