Senior application engineer

Role Overview

Senior Application Engineer at Al Shirawi Group, Leminar Air Conditioning Co. LLC, Flow Therm - Dubai department.

Role Purpose

Provide technical coordination and project management to deliver efficient pump solutions for clients, bridging sales teams and engineering requirements from project submittal through final client approval.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Coordination & Project Management

• Manage pump projects from submittal stage until final client and consultant approval.
• Coordinate and communicate with the sales team and clients to understand project requirements and provide technical expertise.
• Manage pump projects from submittal to final approval, ensuring timely delivery and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution.

Pump Selection & Engineering

• Take full ownership of pump project delivery and technical decisions.
• Select appropriate pumps based on project needs.
• Develop excellent command of pump calculations, including flow rate determination, head calculations, suction and discharge pressure analysis, efficiency estimation, and motor power selection.
• Perform pump calculations, including flow rate determination, head calculations, and suction and discharge pressure analysis.
• Estimate pump efficiency and select suitable motor power for optimal performance.

Cost Estimation & Documentation

• Prepare detailed cost estimations for complete pump sets.
• Create detailed cost estimations and proposals for pump projects.
• Review and approve pump-related documentation, ensuring compliance with specifications and standards.

Design & Technical Drawings

• Demonstrate strong proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and modifying mechanical drawings, electrical control panel schematics, and General Arrangement (GA) drawings for pumps and associated equipment.
• Create and modify mechanical drawings, electrical schematics, and GA drawings using AutoCAD, adhering to industry standards.

Mentoring & Development

• Provide technical support and training to junior engineers and sales personnel.
• Stay updated with industry trends and advancements in pump technology.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the HVAC or pump industry.
• Good understanding of industry standards and regulations related to pumps.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD for mechanical and electrical design.
• Excellent knowledge of pump selection, performance, and calculations.
• Proficiency in MS Office and other relevant software.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
• Analytical mindset with problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and industry practices.
