Sea Freight - Pricing Supervisor

Role Overview

Sea Freight Pricing Supervisor at Hellmann. This role is based in the UAE and focuses on delivering expertise in Pricing & Tender Management to support the organisation's objectives and contribute to strategic initiatives.

Role Purpose

Provide specialized pricing expertise and leadership to optimize freight rate management, support sales objectives through competitive bid development and rate optimization, and drive operational efficiency in sea freight pricing and tender processes.

Key Responsibilities

Pricing & Rate Management

• Source competitive rates for enquiries.
• Source rates for contractual RFQs from local and origin offices.
• Understand and optimize the freight bids.
• Generate freight comparison matrix to help the sales team to close right sales offers.

Stakeholder & Vendor Relations

• Liaise with regional trade heads of Hellmann globally for FCL & LCL rate filing.
• Organize regular meetings with shipping lines and consolidators.
• Collaborate with shipping line & co loaders on space allocations for FCLs and LCLs.
• Conduct strategic negotiations with shipping lines for additional space allocation using accurate forecasts and volume commitments.

Sales Coordination

• Set up regular meetings with Sales Team to gather volume forecast and discuss current market situations about service or space constraints.

Operations & Systems Management

• Manage an internal freight check system for UAE for FCL and LCL.
• Build bullet proof SOPs and work instructions to improve efficiency and productivity.

Team Leadership & Development

• Manage a team of UAE pricing.
• Mentor the team and provide opportunities for growth.
• Organize appraisal meetings with the team, assign and evaluate half yearly and yearly performance targets and objectives.

Performance & Reporting

• Set up KPIs acceptable to all the stakeholders regarding freight enquiry response lead time.
• Report on KPIs and set improvement plan after evaluating gap analysis report.

Qualifications & Experience

• Minimum 3 years' experience in Pricing in the UAE.
• Good contact with local shipping lines.

Skills & Competencies

• Proficient in MS Office and its applications.
