Salesforce Technical Architect

Role Overview

Salesforce Technical Architect at Horizontal Digital, based in Riyadh or Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. You will lead the technical design of a large-scale, integration-heavy Salesforce programme for a major enterprise client in the Kingdom.

Role Purpose

Own the technical architecture across the Salesforce ecosystem and the systems it connects to, ensuring solutions meet both business and technical requirements. This is a hands-on, player/coach role where you will guide development teams while taking an active part in technical design, solution reviews and delivery, working across functional, technical, integration and data workstreams.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Design

• Design and own the end-to-end Salesforce architecture across Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud and industry-specific clouds
• Evaluate and design integration patterns between Salesforce and external systems, using APIs, middleware and event-driven approaches
• Define API standards and data models, including canonical models, to support a well-architected approach
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including ERDs, sequence diagrams, data mappings and architecture blueprints
• Design data migration strategies across different Salesforce clouds and define mechanisms to validate data accuracy and completeness throughout the migration

Governance & Standards

• Ensure all solutions meet enterprise architecture standards for scalability, security and performance
• Maintain Architecture Decision Records throughout the project
• Guide development teams through design reviews, best practice and code quality oversight

Requirements & Solutioning

• Work with business stakeholders and functional leads to turn requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Prepare and present the technical design rationale, discuss it with key stakeholders, and drive decisions that provide greater clarity and direction to the team
• Support pre-sales activity through solutioning, effort estimation and architecture advice

Stakeholder Management

• Work directly with clients to shape technical solutions around their business goals
• Explain complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to business and technical stakeholders in Arabic and English
• Partner across the functional, technical, integration and data workstreams

Delivery & Optimization

• Stay hands-on in validating your design and maintaining quality throughout delivery
• Guide and mentor developers
• Leverage AI tools such as Claude Code across the delivery lifecycle to accelerate design and development, while analysing the impact of changes and ensuring they are safely validated and rolled out

Qualifications & Experience

• 8+ years of client-facing consulting experience focused on Salesforce architecture and solution design
• 8+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Experience Cloud, Data Cloud and MuleSoft
• Marketing Cloud experience is good to have
• Salesforce certifications: Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, Agentforce, and one or more Salesforce Architect domain certifications (e.g. Application Architect, System Architect)
• Experience working in cross-functional project teams to understand requirements and deliver secure, scalable solutions
• Proven experience designing scalable integration patterns with external systems
• Experience with agile methods, including estimation and planning across multi-disciplinary teams
• Previous delivery experience in Saudi Arabia or the wider GCC is nice to have

Skills & Competencies

• Deep understanding of Salesforce platform limits, the security model, deployment architecture and performance considerations
• Strong background in integration, including RESTful APIs, middleware platforms, and batch and real-time interfaces
• Familiar with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines and Salesforce release strategies
• Strong system documentation skills (ERDs, process flows, sequence diagrams, etc.)
• Skilled at guiding and mentoring developers, and at running code and design reviews
• Fluent in Arabic (preferred) and English (essential), spoken and written
• Able to explain complex technical concepts clearly and confidently to business and technical stakeholders in both languages
• Experience with event streaming on Kafka / Confluent, including consumer groups, Schema Registry and Avro/JSON serialisation is nice to have
• Experience with data transformation and mapping, especially from nested JSON and EDIFACT into a canonical relational model is nice to have
• Experience with Data Cloud, MuleSoft, Field Service or Revenue Cloud is nice to have
