Sales Development Intern
Lean Technologies
Job description
Role Overview
Sales Development Intern at Lean Technologies, based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. You will work at the top of the sales funnel, researching target accounts, managing inbound leads, and progressing to running qualification calls.
Company Overview
Lean is the leading financial infrastructure provider in the Middle East. The company powers some of the region's largest enterprises with APIs that enable payments, account verification, financial data access, and critical financial infrastructure. Founded in 2019, Lean is the first regulated Open Banking and Open Finance company operating across the UAE and Saudi Arabia. The company has processed billions of dollars in transactions, is trusted by 350+ clients including Tabby, Tas'heel, Hungerstation, and Binance, and is backed by General Catalyst, Sequoia, and Shorooq. The $67.5M Series B funding is fueling expansion into new markets, new product launches, and accelerated financial innovation across MENA.
Role Purpose
You will own a defined slice of the sales funnel from day one, managing real leads and real target accounts. This is an active role where you will research markets, run outreach campaigns, qualify inbound leads, and participate in discovery calls alongside Account Executives and senior SDRs, building toward running your own qualification calls.
Key Responsibilities
Market Research & Account Development
- Build a market map for one assigned vertical, identifying target accounts, decision-makers, and Lean's relevance to each.
- Source outbound leads from your assigned vertical map and draft outreach sequences for team review.
Lead Management & Qualification
- Work inbound leads within SLA, documenting every qualification or disqualification decision with clear reasoning.
- Join discovery calls with Account Executives and senior SDRs, progressing to running qualification calls independently once signed off.
- Report feedback to Marketing on which inbound leads are worth the team's time and which are not.
Pipeline & Data Management
- Use Salesforce, Lemlist, Clay, and AI tooling to research accounts faster and maintain pipeline data integrity.
Reporting & Analysis
- Report weekly on your own numbers: activity, response rates, conversion to qualified meetings, and changes you are making based on results.
Qualifications & Experience
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Evidence of having sold, persuaded, or built something from zero: a student society you grew, a side business, a fundraising effort, a part-time sales or customer-facing job.
Skills & Competencies
- Clear, confident communication in English and Arabic, spoken and written.
- Comfort with rejection and a habit of following up without needing encouragement.
- Habit of tracking your own results and adjusting approach based on data.
- Strong prioritization skills; ability to identify which leads deserve your time and which do not.
- Curiosity about fintech, payments, or how companies move money.
