Role Overview
Safety Specialist at KONE, based in Riyadh. Reporting to the Safety Manager, you will proactively ensure continuous improvement of safety performance and awareness in the business unit.

Role Purpose
To build and proactively promote KONE Safety Culture by supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of safety management systems, ensuring worker, user, and third-party safety across the business unit.
Key Responsibilities
Safety Policy and Objectives
- Support the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of KONE safety management system (operating model) including worker, user, and third-party safety.
- Cultivate an understanding and actively caring culture for safety and act as a role model.
- Compile, maintain, and improve safety documentation together with the unit safety team.
- Actively participate in and contribute to unit safety committee and other safety forums.
- Provide professional advice and support to the unit on matters affecting safety.
- Plan, participate in, and implement projects and activities to improve safety.
- Work closely with customers and partners, including KONE subcontractors.
- Support the development, review, and exercise of crisis and emergency response plans.
Safety Risk Management
- Monitor and develop safety risk management processes, tools, and practices.
- Support safety-related change management projects and initiatives.
Safety Assurance
- Collect, measure, and ensure accuracy of leading and lagging safety data and report performance.
- Monitor legal and business environment development in safety, identify trends, and propose actions.
- Perform safety audits regularly to verify compliance, identify uncontrolled risks, and identify deviations.
- Assist line management in safety audits and visits and support audit process improvement.
- Analyze and investigate incidents and support investigation process improvement.
- Manage corrective and preventive actions for continual improvement.
Safety Promotion
- Develop own competences as a safety specialist in cooperation with the manager.
- Support the training and development of others' safety competences in the unit.
- Proactively communicate safety information including investigation outcomes and best practices.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in safety in elevators, construction, or related industries.
- NEBOSH and IOSH certificates mandatory.
