RPA Mx Munitions Technician I/Deployment Pool (K)

Role Overview

RPA Mx Munitions Technician I/Deployment Pool (K) with Amentum, supporting Reaper Series RPA maintenance and munitions operations at various CONUS/OCONUS locations.

Role Purpose

To provide essential munitions and weapons system support for RPA operations, including assembly, maintenance, inspection, and demilitarization of munitions and aircraft armament systems, while maintaining flexibility to deploy as required.

Key Responsibilities

Aircraft Armament Systems

• Perform installation, configuration changes, modification, repair and adjustment of aircraft armament systems and components.
• Inspect bomb release systems and missile launchers to determine need for repair or destruction in support of Reaper Series RPA maintenance.
• Support weapons loading and armament systems and related matters.

Munitions Handling and Maintenance

• Assemble, disassemble, renovate, transport, load, deactivate, modify, destroy, and handle munitions including missiles, precision, and gravity bombs.
• Perform maintenance modifications, destruction, and demilitarization of ammunition and explosive components.
• Conduct inspection, maintenance, and storage of munitions and support equipment.

Stock Control and Inventory

• Operate computer hardware and software utilities and manual records to perform stock control and accounting procedures.
• Provide technical inputs to managers in matters of weapons management, inventory, and maintenance.
• Assist with availability and serviceability of munitions to support emerging customer requirements.

Quality and Compliance

• Support quality assurance, compliance, continuity, and standardization of munitions programs.
• Maintain weapons certification and currency.
• Attend weapons safety course, load certification and related activities.

Deployment Support

• Perform Increment Monitor duties to include equipment and cargo preparation, documentation, pallet build-up, and hazardous cargo handling.
• Inspect and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
• Deploy to forward locations and various CONUS/OCONUS locations as directed by the Government.

General Duties

• Perform all other duties as assigned or requested.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School diploma or completion of relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum.
• Minimum of one year of actual Aircraft Munitions/Weapons maintenance experience required.
• Completed USAF Munitions/Weapons Tech School or DoD equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft maintenance.
• USAF equivalent position is Munitions/Weapons Technician Apprentice.

Skills & Competencies

• Technical knowledge of aircraft armament systems and components.
• Computer hardware and software operation for inventory management.
• Manual records documentation.
• Ground support and auxiliary equipment operation and inspection.
• English language proficiency: speak, read, write, and understand.

Additional Information

Security and Clearance

• Must have had an Active Secret US Government Clearance within the last 12 months.
• US citizenship is required to obtain a Secret clearance.
• Must be able to maintain required DoD security clearance commensurate with assigned duties during employment.
• Must submit updated SF-86 within 30 days of hire start date.

Physical Requirements

• Must be able to lift, carry, and/or wear Military Issued Equipment in excess of 50 pounds for extended periods.

Licensing and Documentation

• Must have current/active State Issued Driver's License.
• Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid flight-line Government Driver's License.
• Must have valid U.S. Passport with a minimum of two years remaining with at least two facing pairs (four total) of blank Visa pages.

Medical and Deployment Requirements

• Must meet all OCONUS deployment criteria, to include pre-deployment medical screening, as a condition of employment.
• Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated with booster. Accommodations may be available under limited circumstances.

Certification Requirements

• Must achieve a passing grade in all required courses/certifications for continued employment, as needed.

Flexibility

• Employee will be part of the Deployment Pool and will be required to support deployments as required.
• This position will require flexibility in the support of assigned deployment and work schedules.

Preferred Qualifications

• Associate degree in a relevant career field.
• RPA Deployment Experience.
• Prior Experience as a Defense Contractor.
• Munitions/Weapons experience within the last 10 years.
