Role Overview
Client Risk Officer at The Apex Group, located in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, UAE. The role operates under ADGM/FSRA and DIFC regulation.

Role Purpose
The Risk Officer is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the risk management framework for Apex clients. The role acts as a key second line of defence, ensuring that operational, regulatory, technology, cyber, conduct, and third-party risks are properly identified, monitored, and managed.
Key Responsibilities
Risk Framework & Governance
- Develop and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management framework for Apex clients.
- Develop and maintain the Risk Appetite Statement for Apex clients.
- Develop and maintain Key Risk Indicators for Apex clients.
- Own and update risk policies, procedures, and risk governance documentation.
Risk Monitoring & Reporting
- Maintain the Risk Register for Apex clients across operational, regulatory, conduct, technology, and third-party risks.
- Provide risk reporting and insights to senior management, the Board, and relevant committees.
- Support regulatory discussions and ensure risk documentation is regulator ready.
Risk Assessment & Analysis
- Assess risks related to new products, digital assets, technology infrastructure, and cybersecurity for Apex clients.
- Oversee risk management including portfolio analysis.
Third-Party & Outsourcing Risk
- Oversee outsourcing and third-party risk management, including due diligence and ongoing monitoring.
Incident Management & Control
- Lead incident management, root cause analysis, and control improvement actions.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Work closely with the client's Compliance and MLRO teams to align risk management with regulatory and financial crime obligations.
Qualifications & Experience
- Between 5 to 10 years of experience in risk management within financial services.
- Strong understanding of operational risk, conduct risk, regulatory risk, and governance.
- Experience working in a regulated environment; ADGM/FSRA and DIFC experience is preferred.
- Degree in Finance or professional certification such as FRM, PRM, or CFA is preferred.

- Good communication skills and experience reporting to Board directors and senior management.
- Strong understanding of risk frameworks, controls, and regulatory expectations.
