Registered Nurse -OBG

Role Overview

Registered Nurse - OBG at NMC Healthcare. This inpatient nursing position delivers comprehensive care to obstetric and gynecological ward patients.

Role Purpose

Deliver evidence-based nursing care to inpatient OBG patients by assessing health status, implementing individualized care plans, administering treatments, coordinating multidisciplinary care, and ensuring patient safety and education throughout their hospital stay.

Key Responsibilities

Patient Care & Assessment

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to inpatient/ward patients according to their individual care plans.
• Assess patients' health conditions and monitor vital signs, symptoms, and changes in clinical status.
• Monitor patients' responses to treatment and report any changes promptly.
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and deteriorating patient conditions.

Treatment & Procedures

• Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians.
• Assist physicians during examinations, procedures, and other clinical interventions.

Care Planning & Evaluation

• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized nursing care plans.
• Support patient discharge planning and provide appropriate health education.

Patient & Family Education

• Educate patients and their families regarding medications, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.

Documentation & Record Management

• Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation and nursing records.
• Ensure proper handling and documentation of medications, equipment, and supplies.

Infection Prevention & Safety

• Maintain infection prevention and control standards at all times.
• Follow hospital policies, nursing standards, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Interdisciplinary Collaboration

• Coordinate with doctors, physiotherapists, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Valid Registered Nurse license/registration in the relevant country.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Minimum 2–3 years of inpatient/medical-surgical nursing experience preferred.
