Regional Customer Application Engineer

Role Overview

Regional Customer Application Engineer at GE Vernova. This role provides technical leadership and project management for customer projects in the Transmission & Distribution or Power Generation sectors, operating globally with moderate autonomy and significant operational judgment.

Role Purpose

Own project control activities globally and drive consistent functional specifications and common global processes for project implementation. Develop and deliver specialized technical expertise that shapes project approaches, programs, and organizational ways of working while ensuring quality, efficiency, and effectiveness across the team.

Key Responsibilities

Project Leadership & Planning

• Serve as the technical leader and manager to develop scope of work, plan schedule, and monitor engineering activities for customer projects.
• Provide technical leadership and interface with Proposal Management, Cost Estimating, Partners, Customers, GE Product Engineering, Sourcing, and Engineering sub-contractors.
• Develop specialized knowledge in discipline and serve as a best practice and quality resource.
• Lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements.

Technical Excellence & Strategy

• Maintain awareness of latest technical developments in own area.
• Contribute towards strategy and policy development and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
• Develop in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others.
• Maintain working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
• Use technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations.

Decision-Making & Problem-Solving

• Use judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational or product management, manufacturing, technology, or engineering.
• Take new perspective on existing solutions.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in EPC project environments within Transmission & Distribution or Power Generation.
• Exposure to commercial and tendering activities, project technical management, application engineering, or similar roles.
• Proficiency in engineering disciplines such as civil work, layout and integration design, control and protection hardware, system and performance studies, or electrical design.

Additional Information

• Ability and willingness to travel worldwide up to 20% or more of the time.
