Role Overview

Regional Bid Implementation Manager MPL IMEA at Maersk. This role leads solution design and implementation for Maersk Packing & Loading (MPL) customer pursuits across the IMEA region, requiring advanced engineering expertise and cross-functional collaboration.

Role Purpose

Lead end-to-end MPL solution design and implementation for customer pursuits across the IMEA region. Own solution design from capture through Go-Live, working jointly with business development and operations teams to design solutions for new markets and customers. Support standardization and proof of concept building for automation initiatives using global and regional methodologies with continuous improvement mindset.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Design & Development

• Capture core data and assumptions required to design, cost and price customer solutions, including process for capturing all customer insights relevant to current pursuits or future upselling opportunities.
• Develop detailed designs and process flows for solutions incorporating scope of services, operating model, resource models, operating cost estimates, recommended selling price, estimated value for client and draft P&L for Maersk.
• Provide engineering solution and visualization for proposed solutions as part of technical response in RFQ.
• Own solution design personally to lead all phases of pursuit development.

Bid Strategy & Management

• Analyze in detail the request for proposal (RFP) and define the bid strategy taking into account commercial strategy defined jointly with Global head of Growth and center bid manager.
• Set RFQ response schedule and engage response stakeholders timely to ensure bid completed on time.
• Gather market and target prices.
• Prepare documentation necessary to submit to customer.
• Keep records of all documentation produced for tender preparation (RFP, Q&A, presentations, letters, contract) and traceability until contract signature.
• Provide documents in time in compliance with tender and global requirements.

Stakeholder Engagement & Negotiation

• Guide solution design teams in Area on new business opportunities including RFP response, strategic cross-country project focus, CAPEX, presentations materials and technical documentation.
• Participate in contract negotiations.
• Attend customer negotiation meetings as required.
• Facilitate cross-functional decision-making across regions, products and internal stakeholders.

Project Implementation Planning & Execution

• Develop a clear project implementation charter with operational readiness KPIs for approval with clear understanding of customer and product needs for each project, based on input from Solutions Design, Operations, Procurement and Growth Enablement stakeholders.
• Develop and maintain project implementation plans to include all platform, operations, procurement, QHSE and financial, operational and customer requirements.
• Drive regional preparation and setup supporting the project to include resource management and recruitment, procurement framework, platform readiness and stress, hyper care preparation and process testing prior to Go-Live.
• Adopt and/or adjust Maersk Project Implementation methodology, toolkits and templates to implement projects to provide clear project visibility for Global Metrics reporting and performance measurement.

Team & Governance

• Convene and formalize project implementation team, and work closely with key MPL leaders, executive sponsors, account owners and other corporate functions to reach implementation goals on schedule and in full.
• Convene and manage project implementation steering committee(s) as applicable.

Capability Building & Standards

• Support standardization and proof of concept building for automation initiatives using methodology provided from global and regional teams.
• Support development of automation proof of concepts.
• Build solution design capability within geo-scope.
• Share best practice.
• Ensure adoption of global MPL implementation methodology and global MPL implementation tools and reporting standards.

Qualifications & Experience

• 10+ years' experience in the design of MPL solutions.
• Highly experienced in designing solutions for core MPL verticals.
• Exposure to working in MPL or logistics operations including implementation.
• Experience in customer-facing engagements and presentations.

Skills & Competencies

• Extensive technical and product knowledge including experience in project solution design, pricing and value proposition design.
• Innovative in reaching conclusions and making recommendations based on limited and/or ambiguous data.
• Strong ability to facilitate cross-functional decision-making across regions, products and internal stakeholders.
• Strong communication skills.
