QC Supervisor - Piping

Role Overview

QC Supervisor - Piping at Samsung E&A. This role is responsible for planning and controlling quality activities in piping disciplines in accordance with the quality management system established by the QC Manager.

Role Purpose

Plan, control and perform inspections and tests on piping disciplines while managing inspectors responsible for those disciplines. Ensure quality activities align with the established quality management system and deliver corrective actions in coordination with other disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Planning and Procedures

• Prepare Quality Procedures and Inspection Test Plans.
• Establish quality system processes and implementation for small-scale projects below 0.5 billion dollars.
• Conduct training on system operation for FMCS and SCMS.

Inspection and Testing Execution

• Plan, control and perform inspections and tests on assigned piping disciplines.
• Manage the pressure test package and ensure familiarity with P&ID.
• Review and ensure the pressure test package is complete.
• Manage piping data logs related to piping project work.
• Conduct RTR Inspection techniques.
• Conduct pre-inspection activities.

Work Performance Management

• Manage work performance on particular disciplines as per applicable work processes.
• Manage actual results of Quality Performance Indicators.
• Manage work activity through system management tools (FMCS, SCMS).

Quality Issues and Client Relations

• Coordinate and monitor with other disciplines to provide corrective actions.
• Liaise and solve with clients on Quality-related matters including Quality Issues, NCR and Observations.
• Investigate and analyze quality issues based on related international codes and standards.
• Suggest resolutions based on code and standard requirements.

Project Lifecycle Activities

• Conduct ITP studies.
• Prevent and solve inconsistencies.
• Manage RFI processes.
• Manage Punch Clear processes.
• Implement Punch Clear activities.
• Support Plant Start-Up activities.
• Support Operation and Maintenance activities.
• Facilitate Final Handover.

Discipline and Team Management

• Manage inspectors in the piping disciplines for which you are responsible.
• Manage sub-contractor QA/QC activities.

Qualifications & Experience

• University degree with a total of seven (7) years of inspection experience, OR high school diploma with a total of ten (10) years of inspection experience.
• Minimum three (3) years of direct experience supervising construction activities in contract scope of work such as oil, gas, petrochemical projects, infrastructure and communication.
• Demonstrated background and thorough knowledge of codes ASME B 31.3, 31.4 and 31.8, ASME API 570, AWS D1.1.
• Thorough knowledge and proven ability in RTR Inspection techniques.
• Ability to manage pressure test packages.
• Ability to manage piping data logs related to piping project work.
