Role Purpose

Plan and control quality activities in mechanical disciplines in accordance with the quality management system established by the QC Manager. Oversee inspections and tests, manage discipline-specific inspectors, and ensure quality performance meets project requirements through monitoring, auditing and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities

Quality Planning and Control

• Plan and control quality activities in given particular disciplines in accordance with quality management system established by QC Manager.
• Manage actual results of Quality Performance Indicator.
• Identify and mitigate quality risks.

Inspections and Testing

• Conduct planning, controlling and performing of inspections and tests on discipline responsible.
• Manage inspectors in the disciplines for which they are responsible.
• Conduct audits and inspections.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of mechanical process systems inspection and testing; procedures, tools and test equipment used in receiving, storage, fabrication, erection, construction and Pre-Commissioning of steam and combustion turbines, diesel engines, pumps, compressors, motors and generators, mixers and agitators, fans, gearboxes, firewater pumps and motors, auxiliary cooling and lubrication systems, packaged process equipment, pipe, pipe fittings, valves, pressure vessels, fired heaters, tanks, structural steel, hot/cold insulation and other equipment and commodities as required for the work.

Performance Monitoring

• Monitor work performance according to results of risk management.
• Manage work performance on particular discipline as per applicable work process.

Coordination and Corrective Action

• Coordinate and monitor with other disciplines required to provide corrective action.
• Liaise and solve with clients on quality-related matters such as Quality Issues, NCRs and Observations.

Systems Management

• Manage work activity through system management tools including FMCS and SCMS.

Qualifications & Experience

• University degree with a total of seven (7) years of experience in inspection, OR high school diploma with a total of ten (10) years of experience in inspection.
• Minimum three (3) years of direct experience supervising construction activities in contract scope of work, such as oil, gas, petrochemical projects, infrastructure or communication.
• Aramco experience is preferable.

Skills & Competencies

Certifications

• Currently certified by API 653 and API 510.

Technical Knowledge

• Quality Control Inspection.
• Direct work experience and thorough knowledge of static and rotating mechanical equipment, commodities, materials construction, Pre-Commissioning and quality activities required for the work.
• Thorough knowledge of work-related engineering codes and standards including ASTM, API, IEC, NEMA, UL, FM, NFPA, ASME BPVC (Sections I, V, VIII and IX), ANSI/ASME B31.3, B31.4, B31.8 and B73, NACE SPs, API 620, API 650 and AWS D1.1.
