Role Overview
QC Inspector - Piping (Valve) at Samsung E&A. This role performs quality inspection activities for piping discipline on engineering and construction projects globally.

Role Purpose
To perform quality control inspection activities for piping discipline in accordance with the established quality management system, ensuring all work conforms to quality requirements, international codes and standards, and project specifications.
Key Responsibilities
Inspection Planning & Documentation
- Establish inspection and test plans and record forms aligned with project requirements and international codes and standards.
- Prepare and review quality procedure documents submitted by subcontractors including Inspection Test Plans (ITP) and Material Approval Requests (MAR).
- Prepare, review and approve related inspection reports recording inspection results.
- Set and apply practical inspection processes for the piping discipline based on project requirements and international codes.
- Review and track material submittals required for Piping Definable Features of Work prior to preparatory meetings.
Inspection Execution & Control
- Perform quality activities in accordance with the quality management system established.
- Manage and perform inspection of piping discipline.
- Carry out inspections to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements and record results.
- Ensure inspection status is controlled through systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
- Control inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
- Ability to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used.
- Perform and coordinate inspections with client.
- Perform the QC Supervisor's responsibilities in their absence.
Material & Incoming Deliveries
- Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals.
- Conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
- Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
Client Coordination & Communication
- Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
- Conduct preparatory meetings with subcontractors related to Piping Definable Features of Work.
- Perform and coordinate inspection with client.
- Control quality violations through regular toolbox talks with the construction team.
Nonconformity & Corrective Action
- Control Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) to be closed out within the due date.
- Support preparation of Corrective Action Plans.
- Investigate and analyze nonconformities and observations and figure out solutions.
- Ensure lessons learnt are applied and proper preventive action is conducted.
Fabrication & Pre-Commissioning
- Review pre-fabricated spool release and welding history and perform inspections.
- Review and approve test packages, line walks, punch preparation and hydro test inspection.
- Monitor Radiography (RT) backlog as per project requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
- Diploma in engineering.
- Certificate related to piping disciplines.
- Experience from project start to completion.
- Capability of planning and controlling inspections for medium scale projects (0.5 to 1.5 billion dollars).
