Role Purpose

Perform quality control inspection activities on piping discipline in accordance with the established quality management system, international codes and standards, and project requirements. Generate inspection and test plans, conduct inspections to verify conformance to quality requirements, record results, control inspection status, and coordinate with clients and subcontractors to ensure project quality objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities

Inspection Planning and Documentation

• Establish inspection and test plans and their record forms as per project requirements and international codes and standards.
• Generate client Requests For Inspection (RFI) where required, providing sufficient notice for hold, witness and inspection points.
• Prepare, review or approve related inspection reports where inspection results are recorded.
• Review and track material submittals required for Piping Definable Features of Work prior to Preparatory Meetings.
• Review Test Packages, line walk, punch preparation and Hydro test inspection.
• Review and approval of Test Packages.

Quality Procedures and Subcontractor Management

• Prepare and review Quality procedure documents submitted by Subcontractors such as Inspection Test Plan (ITP) and Material Approval Request (MAR).
• Setting and applying practical inspection process of particular discipline based on Project requirements and International Codes, providing ITP and managing Matrix.
• Conduct Preparatory Meetings with Subcontractors related to Piping Definable Features of Work.

Inspection Execution

• Perform quality activities in accordance with quality management system established.
• Manage and perform inspection of Piping discipline.
• Carry out inspections on discipline responsible to determine whether work performed conforms to quality requirements, and record results.
• Inspect incoming material deliveries by confirming specifications and compliance with approved submittals, conduct visual and measurement tests in conjunction with the onsite logistics team.
• Reject and facilitate the return of unacceptable materials.
• Review pre-fabricated spool release, welding history and perform inspections.
• Monitor RT backlog as per project requirements.

Status Control and Compliance

• Ensure inspection status is controlled through efficient tools such as inspection matrix.
• Control inspection status by using systematic tools such as inspection matrix.
• Control NCRs to be closed out within the due date and support preparation of Corrective Action Plan properly.
• Control quality violations through regular tool box talk with the construction team.

Client and Team Coordination

• Perform and coordinate inspection with client.
• Carry out QC Supervisor's responsibility in their absence.

Continuous Improvement

• Ensure application of lessons learnt and proper preventive action conducted.

Qualifications & Experience

• High School graduate or higher education.
• Overall experience: 5 years.
• Experience in Inspection Specialty: 3 years.
• Experience in Contract Scope of Work: 2 years.
• Aramco experience is required.
• Demonstrated background and thorough knowledge of codes including ASME B 31.3, 31.4 and 31.8, ASME, API 570, AWS D1.1.
• Familiarity with PandID and pressure test packages.
• CBT Pass is preferred for QC Inspector.

Skills & Competencies

• Technical knowledge and familiarity with related international codes and standards in particular discipline.
• Ability to check that suitable and appropriate inspection and test tools are used.
• Ability to use measuring and testing equipment.
• Investigation and analysis of nonconformities and observations with capability to determine solutions.
• Planning and controlling inspections for medium scale projects (0.5 to 1.5 billion dollar range).
